Another trophy in the bag...
http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Match-reports/2013/July/City-v-Sunderland
Okay, granted, the Asia Cup is hardly up there with the Premier League trophy, the FA Cup or the Joan Gamper, but a cup is a cup. No doubt the raglets will be most amused at this triviality as it'll distract them from old glass legs getting crocked, but I don't care; four pre-season games and we're already displaying a winning mentality.
And Dzeko picked up his own award too, despite proving he'll not be first in line for chief penalty taker. As with the season before last, will a decent pre-season give him the confidence to score a bagful on a difficult away fixture and will Pellegrini manage to do the opposite of Bobby and keep playing him?
I'm sure we'll all find out in a couple of weeks' time. Bring it on!

It's obvious Pellegrini has a different man management to Mancini, he was singing Dzeko's praises to the media, no hints of any negativity, unlike Mancini, who would always end it with a "yes, but could do better, or improve"
Personally, I think Negredo will shine for us once he finds his feet in the Prem, so it could be nip and tuck, who operates as the big to Aguero's small if we play 2 up, whatever, once we get the system I place and purring, I think we will be back banging them in from all over the park, Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo, Jovetic, Nasri, Milner, Silva, Yaya, Fernand, will all be contributing to our goal haul this season.
The next test is the Audi Cup, and some decent pitches again.

Same as last year from what I saw missing a hatful of chances, 2 much tippy tippy shit getting us nowhere Kompany is outstanding We 'd b fucked without him Probably the worst pen I've ever seen from Dzeko Have seen none of this different attacking style of play yet But as sum1 already sed a trophy is a trophy

You can't take anything from the quality of that pitch.
Jesus looked very good as did Fernandino and I think Negredo and Dzeko with Sergio running off them is going to be one hell of a forward line!
Will see for sure with this Audi Cup we are playing in, better opposition on better pitches.

I'd love to see how we fare against Bayern, it looks like it's been geared up for a final between us and them. I dare say, despite it being a meaningless trophy, they won't want to lose in front of their home crowd.

They have only showed the first 2 "friendlies" over here - the rest have been all MU games - sheesh

Re: Another trophy in the bag...
I've been lucky enough to see all 4 games so far. The Audi cup though is on Bloody Setanta. They demand a monthly fee plus a guaranteed 2 month subscription. so for the sake of 2 games on probably the worst satellite station in the world I am going to stick to the website for news. Not one of my mates has setanta either which goes to show how bad it is.

Setanta?? What the actual hell?? We're talking about a competition with the current Champions League holders in it, why would they want to restrict themselves to a channel with a subscriber base of 47?
Divs.

Christ knows. I thought it died in the same way as On Digital did, because nobody was willing to pay to watch lower league football.

Yes it is the Irish setanta hosted by Paul Dempsey but we can subscribe to it here in oz. I subscribed to it the year we won the fa cup as that was the only station showing all the rounds in Australia. Last year Espn got the F.A cup, all of City's games were on bar the 3rd rnd v Watford. Whilst I detest the idiots they have giving expert analysis like Shaka Hislop at least here in oz we don't have to cough up any extra for games. We have not touch wood gone down the road of pay per view yet.

According to the OS, the game against Milan will be shown on ESPN. You get that included in the Sky Sports package, don't you?

Supporters wishing to watch City v Milan can tune into ESPN’s live coverage of the 5:15pm kick-off on Wednesday evening.

Re: Another trophy in the bag...
We do but it wasn't listed on the espn schedule when I last checked on Sunday night. If it is on Setanta it is very rare we can get it on another channel so the espn game will probably be for European viewers. I will have to check again though.

Re: Another trophy in the bag...
a cross I have to bear leo. The only downside to being here is when city are not shown live. Only the odd pre season friendly now days remember when it used to be a handful of matches over a season on motd. How lucky we are nowdays.

Yeah, I remember those days. I also remember when Sky started, I bagged the sports package, which at the time only showed live matches on Sky Sports (there weren't three channels then) and you'd have corking games like Arsenal vs Liverpool and you'd end up with the rags playing against Ipswich as the match of choice. Yawn.

Re: Another trophy in the bag...
Glad I read this thread - it is being shown over here at noon on ESPN-2. Yay - can record it. When I checked ESPN TV listings online - it wasn't listed - but saw it scheduled on the TV when I scrolled through tomorrow's programmes.
