First city v arsenal fixture in league & cup home and away I’ll have missed since 1985
First visit to Highbury we lost 1-0 and Tommy Caton was playing for Arsenal

Nice touch from Pep yesterday when asked if he's spoken to Arteta recently.
Yes we spoke yesterday
Oh what did you talk about?
What wine we would drink after the match, socially distancing of course.

... and nice touch from Sterling finally - after a couple of muffed attempts. Lets hope we score a couple in the second half - to calm the nerves please.

Re: City v Arsenal
I watched the game, purely to see how it was going to pan out, and unfortunately it was exactly as I thought it would be.
What was played last night was a complete farce that should never have even been contemplated.
It was a dog’s dinner from start to finish.
Drinks breaks on a wet Wednesday night! More substitutions than an England friendly. Unfit players going through the motions at the end.
All in the name of finishing a season that will be forever tainted.
All I could see was players with expensive haircuts (when nobody else is allowed to go to a barbers or hairdressers), players slapping each other on the back, everybody being seen to do the ‘right thing’ with one eye on the press coverage and all this after the Arsenal squad travelled by car, plane and coach for a 3hour journey!
And for what? So a faceless minister can stand in a press briefing with a smug look pronouncing that he and his government have done such a great job that they are able to throw the proles a bone! “There you go, here’s your football, now you’ll forget that there are still 300 people a day dying.”
People still can’t attend funerals for loved ones, schools are still closed, weddings still cancelled and vulnerable people still shielding. And yet we get served up that crap, as if it’s needed and justifiable!
I’m finished with it.

Re: City v Arsenal
I'm sure the pressure of law suits by the clubs (Liverpool) and the 3 which could have been relegated and maybe even the broadcasting companies played a huge part in the clubs finishing the season.
Whereas I think the season should have been abandoned with no changes to the tables, its something to watch while we are all closeted indoors. I am more angry at the people over here who are not wearing masks in the supermarkets or other stores as if it is all over. There is no leadership over here. The "red" states all ignore responsible actions such as distancing and masks and the blue states are abiding by the safety measures. Its disgusting. Its as if there are 50 countries here - every state does what it wants to do. The numbers are spiking again - still in first phase - God knows what will happen if a second wave hits. It's older "white" guys and rednecks that are flouting safety measures

I don't think we were that good last night. Unfit, underprepared and the odd fatty but Arsenal are utterly useless.

Wensdi Both Trump and Johnson are going for herd immunity, one by trying to ignore it as though when he speaks people will forget about everything and the other by stealth. They are hoping if they kill everyone off first time round there will be no second wave. We put it down to government ineptitude but too many things are being done "a little late". A little late for shut down, a little late for tests, a little late for the care homes and now a little late for test and trace. Yet we still remember Cummings herd immunity and recently surfaced is the videos from Rory Stewart.Wensdi wrote:I'm sure the pressure of law suits by the clubs (Liverpool) and the 3 which could have been relegated and maybe even the broadcasting companies played a huge part in the clubs finishing the season.
