Liverpool Fans
Is it not time UEFA took further and stronger action against Liverpool after their latest atrocious incident?
In 2019 Their welcoming committee lined the street to hurl abuse and missiles including bricks, bottles and flares at the City team bus, resulting in severe damage to the vehicle which had to be replaced for the trip home. Merseyside Police investigated? and went through hours of police body cam and CCTV footage but were unbelievably unable to identify or charge a single individual!
UEFA fined the club £20,000.
In 2020 their fans gave Athletico Madrid a similar welcome and they were fearing a backlash this time with perhaps a ban but the club was fined £2,838 for the fans having flares???
The latest incident occurred on Wednesday night when again their fans congregated along the road on the approach to Anfield to 'welcome' the Real Madrid team coach. Despite there being no fans permitted there were hundreds of Liverpool fans hurling abuse and missiles at the coach and again red flares were held by some of the fans, there was a window broken on the coach by a brick hurled by the fans.
This of course has been an often repeated scenario by Liverpool fans on European nights ever since the Heysel Stadium disaster in 1985 which resulted in 39 people losing their lives after a section of the Liverpool fans charged at the Juventus fans and caused a stampede which led to a wall to collapsing on fans.
That resulted in UEFA taking action, but not just against Liverpool, it resulted in every English club being banned from European competitions for 5 years.
My question is, how long do teams meeting Liverpool in Europe have to suffer the violence and vitriolic hatred of their fans? They boast about their European pedigree yet are amongst the worse fans in Europe. How long is UEFA going to tolerate this unacceptable behaviour towards other teams by Liverpool fan particularly at Anfield? The policing around Anfield is clearly useless and not fit for purpose, I actually believe the police are scared to intervene and can you blame them?
So it's time UEFA stepped in and took decisive action against Liverpool, banning their fans from the stadium is hardly a punishment at the moment and paltry fines are no good. I believe they should be banned from Europe for a season and fined heavily otherwise this behaviour by their fans is only going to continue and knowing UEFA, if it results in one or more deaths or injury, could see us all kicked out of Europe again!

Re: Liverpool Fans
Everyone seems afraid to sanction them for fear of the “I can’t believe you’re doing this to us, remember the 96” shit that would be thrown at them. Not that they mention that much!!
It’s even worse because it’s orchestrated by the club as a tactic. Didn’t they put on their official feed the details of the changed route the City coach took that night?

Fully agree. They, closely followed by the Rags are the scummiest fans going. Time and time again they use or threaten violence and virtually nothing is done.

Re: Liverpool Fans
It's ridiculous that they can attack and intimidate the players and officials of a visiting team in THE major European competition and UEFA lets them get away with it time and again. Sure they impose a token fine but that amounts to not giving a toss and has totally no effect in terms of punishing the club and its fans.

Sad but true, mate. Pity nobody retorts with “Remember the 39 at Heysel and the five years you fucked over every English club who would’ve qualified as a result”. But then this is UEFA all over. How often have they punished Napoli for their fans antics, riding around away supporters on Lambrettas and slashing them as they go past? Or any of the Russian clubs who chant racist slurs through the entire match? Okay, so CSKA got a two match fan ban, but that hurt us more than them and we’d not done anything wrong. UEFA only go for soft targets and leave the teams that generate more TV revenue for them alone.
