Nedum Onuoha
Posted on 606 as well...
Kompany and Ned at CB next season?
Ned has played well for Sunderland this year and I think he would be an ideal candidate for a solid partnership with Vinnie next year. Home grown for the 25 too...
Thoughts?

Re: Nedum Onuoha
The only problem with Ned is his injuries. He seems to be one of those players at a young age who frequently pick up knocks that turn out to be 3 -4 week injuries.
I like him - but right now, on what you have seen of him at Sunderland - does his performances or appearances warrent in a starting place ahead of Lescott (who i dont particularly like, but has done well recently), K Toure r even Boateng?
I'd say of what we have seen.....no.
The guy clearly has great attributes.........he has been good as a RB.....better than Micah on current form? NO.
Better potential at RB than Boateng? Maybe. But i think Boateng is a CB in the making.
So - do we sell him for£12m and pit that towards Alves as it seems we are constantly linked to him? Put Micah in his preferred CB position?
I can't see a future for Ned at City under MANCINI, though i do think the kid has talent.
Future at City? No.
Future as a top RB at another club? Yes.

I agree with blueboy, Ned is a cracking lad, but i think the injuries he has had already will take their toll. Will be a decent Premiership player, but if we are aiming high, then no, not for us.

I'd have him as a squad player but i think we have enough of those already! great lad, 24 apps this season and he deserves that every season at this stage of his career, expect a goal against us whoever he goes too, probably similar to the one he got against chelsea earlier this season

Re: Nedum Onuoha
Where exactly is Ned playing for the Makems? I reckon he's a decent CB but not as good as Kompany, Lescott or Kolo. Richards is a far better RB.
Re: Nedum Onuoha
he's played both RB and CH, Sunderland have had loads of injuries and have been mix and match most weeks. I expect bruce wanted him for RB as he has Bramble, Ferdinand, mensah and El mouhamaddy for ch and Bardsley for rb. Bruce has been impressed though and would buy him at the right price i rekon, 5m ish.

Re: Nedum Onuoha
We still only have one right back at the club in Micah, as Boateng is never a right back,so it makes sense to have ned and Micah as right backs with kompany boating toure and lescott as centre halves meaning we only need to get left back sorted and the defence is pretty good.I think Hart needs some competition and it would do him good to be left out every now and again to keep the hunger there to stop complacency.

Re: Nedum Onuoha
Hart has fierce competition in Given but Mancini thught better of rotating keepers in the cup. Alves is only linked with City because he is refusing to sign a new contract (wages) with Barca. I can only assume that his agent will have said to him if Barca wont pay that much, I know a team (City) that will. Another money hungry player that doesnt give a shit about the club and only about his bank balance. Another Yaya Toure... Ned loves City and with being home grown would be good to keep him.

Re: Nedum Onuoha
Alves has signed a new contract. I don't think Ned would be happy with being a squad player. He is no better than what we have at CB & although I think he's as good as Richards at RB, it looks like Micah has cemented his place. In conclusion I would say sell him to the highest bidder
