Is Nedum really only worth about £2.5M?

Bids seem to be in from a few clubs for Ned at the £2.5M level.

That just seems way too low for a guy that performed well enough whilst at Sunderland. He isn't too old either. I would have said that we should have been pushing clubs for £6M for this guy.

Clubs at the bottom need to strengthen especially if they may lose there better defenders (Blackburn-Samba, Bolton-Cahill).

I can understand why we'd just want to get rid of him (£2.5M fee and saving £2M a year on wages) but we has got to be worth a few more quid than is being offered.

Who would pay that for him tho Dawg? All the clubs know we just want rid quickly, for whatever reason. Trimming the squad is the best way for Bobby to bring in a couple of new faces. I'd prefer him to stay and fight for a place but it appears he is'nt wanted.

There was talk last summer of £3.5M+ which seemed to low to me then.

Ned can't get a game with us. Who's going to fork out £6m for a defender who hasn't played a full game since last season? Plus, there's all the hoo-ha surrounding the sacking of Cookie which he was indirectly embroiled in. Rusty defender, possible liability, would likely want a sizeable wage... can't see six million being on the table.

i agree leo that £6M isn't gonna happen, but we need every penny we can get these days. £2.5M is too low.

The way the transfer payments have been structured over the last few years i can see us taking £1m, and another £1.5m over 12 months through appearances. As much as i like Ned as a player, he aint gonna play so we should take what we can now. A loan to Bolton with a complete transfer at end of season is what i expect to happen.

Yeah, £3m total fee if they stay up......or if he performs well and impresses it could bring other teams interest, and an even bigger fee...hopefully. Its still a bargain for a good player with plenty of years still in him.
