Think it was because it was the second penalty he put past Hart - right? They are apparently good mates. (Can't listen to it here).

They don't really say the reason, other than they are England team mates...but Patrick Barclay was asked if the journo's would have jumped all over it if Mario had done that to an Italian keeper (Cudiccini)...and he said, "absolutely".....inciting the fans.

Just goes to show they do have it in for foreign players, especially Mario.....and if they do....then clearly the refs do.

i don't think it's just foreign players, but certain other players too.

joey barton being a case in point. certain players get cards for nothing whilst other keep getting away with it.
