Team for Bayern and chelsea

With news that Kolarov is out for 2-3 weeks and zabba struggling with an injury, team selection may be a bit easier this week.

Think Bobby will have to shuffle the pack more than this so AJ, Kolo, Savic, Pants, Ned & maybe Hargreaves will be picked for one or tutha

I really don't want to see KoLo playing for us again unless his form on Saturday was down to rustiness.

If no-one is injured I'd like the first team out for both games.

Try and beat Bayern to give us a slim chance of progress and then we should have enough in the tank to get something from Chelsea.

I doubt Richards and Clichy wouldn't be able to play two games within a few days.

Is it really worth us trying to go out in a blaze of glory in the CL? I'd rather use the team to try and beat Chelsea and keep up a buffer. If we can go into January with those 5 points intact, it'll take the pressure off us to keep getting results in a difficult month.

We could go mad and thrash Bayern, but Villarreal will lose and it'll all be in vain. I'm struggling to see the point.

leo, i'd like us to give it a go against bayern. we might just get lucky with the napoli result (unlikely, but you never know).

we have 5 days before the chelsea game which should be enough time for these young professionals. then 6 days before the arsenal game.

i really don't see a problem playing our best team for these three matches.

after these, we have stoke at home and wba away before the new year.

january is the bad month for us fixture wise - we should play the best team we have available for each match until then.

Good point, I'd forgotten we had a big gap between Bayern and Chelsea. Plus, after Rummenigge's comments, I'd love to give them a proper whipping.

So, we win, Villarreal force a draw and Basel to snatch the winner at the death then. Game on!

Imo he'll still play Zab at right back (if fit), with only 1 out and out striker (probably Aguero) against Bayern.

Against Chelski, i think Dawgs team is close but as we're only allowed 11 players Dawg , i think Balotelli will play as a lone striker.

The other thing to think about is, if we beat Bayern & we still go out of the CL we should then be one of the seeded teams in the EL giving us hopefully one of the easier teams.

If we lose to Bayern not only do we go out of the CL but we will more than likely play one of the stronger sides in the EL. We could even get Chelsea or the Rags if they go out of the CL & are seeded in the EL

That won't happen, TMG. The sides that drop into the EL from the CL get drawn against the eight lowest qualifiers, so we won't get any CL teams for at least one round.

i agree with aguero on his own as we tend not to hit long high hopeful balls and aguero has the pace to trouble the CB at chelsea.

Intriguing... but not surprising since AVB seems to think it's better to have a mop headed midfielder who can't tackle as a CB than the guy whose attribiutes are a mix of Vidic and Hangeland.
