Re: Best game of the season
VK was immense - best match he's played this season.
At last a clean sheet, though Micah was a bit rocky and we decided that we didn't need any shape for a while.
My wife thought we must be losing I was that contorted whenever we lost the ball and gave them a chance.
She stayed well clear the last 20 minutes.
Wow!!!

Re: Best game of the season
that was the toughest game on my nerves for a very long time.
bobby looks very steely in the interview. but he can still joke nad have a laugh.
he congratulated the team afterwards but had a go because we didn't control the game after we scored.

Re: Best game of the season
Great game, but I have to reserve the award for the best game so far as the derby!
VK looked his old self, Kolo had a decent game and Zab was brilliant. Much better defensive performance than the one against Chelski. Hart was on top of his game again.
At the other end, Aguero was his industrious self, just been a little wasteful/unfortunate with finishing.
Great win in what was always going to be a cagey affair after 'crisis week'.

Yeah - take back what i thought of Kolo and Zaba - both played decent. Says as much when Walcott didn't get a sniff.
Always looked like we were going to concede - but the defence and Hart stood firm.
Aguero should have scored 3 or 4...hate to dis him, but his finishing has been poor for the past month or so, but our build up play was superb again.
Thought this was the perfect game for AJ to get his chance, but Mancini persisted with Aguero...bet he is really pissed off at his lack of opportunities, especially as he normally scores when he comes on.
Vinny was back to his best, thought our midfield looked open to the counter-attack...but 3 points and a clean sheet is brilliant for us.
Great resilient display...and give credit to Arsenal...they made that the most entertaining game so far this season.
Top of the league - AGAIN!
Well done boys for bouncing back.

Re: Best game of the season
Great performance but c'mon guys can we get back to the 3 or 4 goal margins. My nerves are in tatters!
9 points from the next 3 definitely winnable games would set us up very nicely into our incredibly difficult period starting with the 1st of 3 matches against the Dippers on Jan 3, the Rags & Spuds (oh and Wigan) finishing with the Bluedippers away on Feb 2nd

Laptop failed with last 2minutes to go. Bloody exciting and the manner of victory will have given us a boost - everyone put a shift in and we were determined to come through.
Given the crappy reffing in previous games where opposition have shaded results, I think we are showing that we have the will and resilience for all but the most extreme fubar situations - and even then we're almost coming through.

I thought it was only me,but,Sergio has missed some sitters over the last few weeks.I hope he gets his form back quickly,he is still getting into the scoring positions but he is not putting them away.He should have had another hat-trick against Wengers mob.but it was good to see that our lads kept Walcott and Van Jerky quiet.Let's hope that is our hiccup for the season over and done with, although we have a load of games over the next 5 weeks!

Re: Best game of the season
Zab was absolutely superb yesterday, so much so i forgot Walnut was even playing, without doubt MOM (wonder why they gave it to Nasri? ). Hart was on top form too, those 2 saves from Varmaelan and Ramsey were top drawer.
From where i was sat, i thought the curling shot at the end from Varmaelan was in, much too friggin close for my liking. Overall i thought City just edged it and deserved to win though but jeez that was as good an end to end game as you'll probably see this season.

even a day after the event, i hope we aren't involved in such heart stopping entertaining games again this season.
i was far happier when we were winning 5-1 and 6-1

Re: Best game of the season
I enjoyed it in a perverse sort of way, its not the same watching City in a relaxed manner, yesterday was back to biting the nails and not being able to sit down for the last 20 mins pacing the floor waiting for the inevitable equalizer.
Big plus point was the clean sheet, Hart was fantastic again and without doubt is now the best keeper in the world.

Re: Best game of the season
It was, without a doubt - THE most nerve wracking match for a long time. Had to go in the kitchen for the last 2 minutes and just listen - couldn't watch it. Zab was tremendous - and was so unlucky when his strike hit the bar. Well played lads. Silva was a bit wasteful with his passing and poor Aguero missed several chances - but City really played well as a team.
Merry Christmas all - looks like a blue one for us!!

Re: Best game of the season
Cracking day except for falling on my arse walking back to my car, my back hurts more now than yesterday! Did a bit of studying Barry yesterday... the amount of effort he puts in is unbelievable! Zab was fantastic and stuck to his job, not going out of position. Some team soon are going to get a real pasting when Aguero gets a goal. Kompany was MOTM and rightly so but a good all round effort from them all!
Re: Best game of the season
Hope we will be thrashing Bolton next year PPLF. However Wednesdayitis is similar malady to Cityitis. They could spiral downwards in January:face:

Re: Best game of the season
Have to agree, a very entertaining game indeed, proper end to end stuff with some great football on view. Plus the right team won! Barry is the unsung hero yet again with yet another great display of why Nige isn't getting a game.
And to think I was worried about Kolo and Zab in the back four. It's interesting that Vinny had his best game of the season with his old sidekick in place. And Zab was MOTM all day for me (sure Nasri was chosen to wind the gooners up ) In fact, I'd like to say that Zab, for me, should definitely be given a huge amount of credit, not just for his performance on the day, but for his general attitude towards being a proper team player, not moaning and getting on with the job. If only certain other players could display the same attitude...
