Great article. Read and heard a lot of nonsense over the past 2 weeks about Milner....the Mr Nobody of England, "would rather have Walcott" etc etc.

This article says everything about what Milner's about and why he MUST play tomorrow:

Yeah Good article Blue. Much like Barry he does a lot of the less sexy stuff:-, running back, tackling, closing the opposition down
He will never be a popular figure because of this. In fact many cheered in the pub I was in, when he was hauled off BUT I know we wouldn't be anywhere near as solid without him
I'm all for giving Walcott a run at the opposition in the last 20 once the groundwork has been done & the opposition are tired but if we put Walcott on from the start we will find ourselves with an uphill battle in the 2nd half

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it!
England are set up to defend, counter-attack and score from set pieces, Roy's got a plan, and the team are buying into it, and it's working!
Look at the France v Spain game, Alonso's 1st goal, where was Malouda? would Milner or Barry sit and watch? no they'd be tracking back, and we'd still be in the game! If Milner had put that ball in against Frrance after he'd rounded the keeper, people would be singing a different tune.
Thank god Harry's not manager, he'd have Wallcott, the Ox, Defoe on as well, we'd look great going forward, but we'd be shipping them in for fun at the back!
I hope Miner scores to shut people up, it's not his job to create, although he has put a few mean crosses in the box in the 3 games, I don't know Young's stats, but he's not impressed me so far, if all the team put the effort Miner put's in, we'd have a good chance against Italy, Young, Rooney. they need to raise thier game, Hart, Lescott and Milner have been solid every game, I hope they do us proud tomorrow!

James Milner - The Invisible Rock of England Empty Re: James Milner - The Invisible Rock of England

Glad to see Milner's getting acknowledged - I was just thinking today about what the commentator said on the France v Spain match. "Rooney and England v Italy tomorrow". WTF - what about Milner and England tomorrow. I was tickled when I logged on here and my thoughts about England and Milner were echoed in the article.

Good Luck England - and good luck Milner, Hart and Lescott - I know I am repeating myself from the last article I posted - but I'm a bit superstitious like that.
