According to SSN this morn, the deal's nearly done. £5.5m up front, rising to £8m overall.

TBH i never saw this signing coming, admittedly he had a decent season for Swansea but i never thought he's one i'd like at City. Still don't really know what to make of this really.

I guess being English, young and costing next to nowt points to it being a no-brainer but i'd like to know what you think lads and lass. Is this lad really going to be good enough to play for the PL Champions and if so, where's he gonna play?

he has shown bits and pieces of form - could he get better in a better team with better players is the question we don't know the answer to.

at least we wouldn't be paying silly money for him and he'd put even more pressure on AJ to perform or leave which can only be a good thing

I guess its good for the home grown numbers in the squad? A sensible signing and maybe a nod to Dzeko being used more?

I'm optimistic about him - he stood out in one particular match for GB (3-1 match). What I don't understand is why we didn't go for Vic Moses (I know I'm irritating) but same price range - and talented.
