Ronaldo £95m
Well i could see this story coming a mile off. As soon as it was reported Ronaldo was unhappy at Real last week, i knew there'd only be one place the media would suggest he'd be going........and here it is.
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/270605/Man-City-to-move-for-Ronaldo/
There are a few question over this though,
1. Would RM really want him?
2. Would our owners allow RM to buy him?
3. Would Ronaldo want to come?
4. (and the most important question), Would you want him?
I personally would have Ronaldo tomorrow but i've got a sneeky felling some of you may have a slightly differing view.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes (money talks)
4. Yes
The reality is he wants more money. He wants to be the highest paid footballer in the world and he isn't. If he negotiates a new contract, Spanish tax law will make him pay 40% tax on the new contract. He is going to cost Real another £10M a year I reckon because of all this.

just YES in a word to all of the above.
most likely just some paper talk making things up again as you say, strange 4 days after the transfer window closes.. ?

It amazes me how these players can have such a public strop (as he did when he scored at the wkend) over wanting to be paid more.
How the frig can being paid £200k/wk not be enough?

Because they live in an alternate universe.
It is all that is wrong with the modern footballer. Fifa / Uefa dropped a massive clanger back in the 80's when from what I remember Rangers were the first club to start offering stupid wages to get players into Scottish Football. There should have been a salary cap then and even more so when the TV money came in. I mean next season every premiership team will get another 30 million to spend. Now I wonder where that will end up going? I bet it won't be to football in the community !!
I have no idea where it will end as it will eventually become unsustainable. To be honest it almost is now.

I think it's more of an ego thing with Ronaldo as well, as TopDawg says, he wants to be the highest paid footballer.
Honestly though, I don't think it's a yes to all. I'm not 100% certain the owners would foot the bill for him! I know he's the best, but 95mil and wages will be easily 300k a week! Ridiculous.

Ok, we aren't as big as Real, and can't sell as many shirts, but didn't they get the transfer money back from shirt sales in 2 years?
If Ronny came, we'd get rid of a biggish player i reckon (dzeko, tevez, mario etc). that'd net us £20M and save £150k pw wages so the wages wouldn't be an issue.
i'm sure we'd get plenty more sponsorship deals and merchandising revenue but that wouldn't sort his transfer fee out.
at least he's handling his pay negotiations slightly better than the fat one.

1. Would RM really want him? Would any manager NOT want him??
2. Would our owners allow RM to buy him? Yes, because they want City to be a global brand and having a blue chip player on the books will help achieve it. I know Kun Aguero is one such player, but Ronnie eclipses everyone on the planet (with the possible exception of Messi) so he'd be a massive coup.
3. Would Ronaldo want to come? If all he wants is money and we offer it to him, of course he would.
4. (and the most important question), Would you want him? For football reasons, yes. But he'd be nothing but a mercenary, so on that basis, maybe not.
Plus, we'd need to shed some players. Silva may end up gone because he sits in Ronaldo's role and he's been a bit stroppy over his contract, and I'm not sure he's the one we should lose. Maybe we'd do a deal with AC for Balotelli...

To be honest Messi&Ronaldo are the two best in modern football, and Rono has great talent, but would he be happy competing with Sergio,Carlos,Vinnie& Big Joe every week?We have a very stable group of players now, after the Carlos debacle,I think he would bring an unwanted presure to the team.Let him go and sulk somewhere else!!

As good as he is, is he really THAT GOOD? I'd prefer Sergio or even Tevez to that stroppy prancing queen!

Re: Ronaldo £95m
If he sorted his attitude out a la Tevez, then yes, I'd be happy, but he thinks and acts as if the world revolves around him, Kompany is the yardstick for City players off the field, and I really think how our players act is a major plus point, even Mario is harmless, a bit of a clown, and Tevez has come back into the fold a better person, which he even admits now! I doubt Fergie would have been so understanding, you only have to look at Stam and Becks, how quick they were got out the door.

Re: Ronaldo £95m
Madrid have said, they're willing to sell him for £165m (if they can't resolve the current situation out). Tbh, if i found out Ibrahimovic earned more than me, i'd be pissed off .
