Zab for PFA Player of the Year Empty Zab for PFA Player of the Year

Amazingly, the Daily Mail have put away their bottle of vitriolic acid and produced an article which extols the virtues of our very own Pablo Zabaleta. If he won, he'd be only the fifth defender in the history of the award to win it.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2270412/Pablo-Zabaleta-PFA-Player-Year.html

As it's a piece praising a City player, it's naturally a bit lightweight. But the basic premise I agree with wholeheartedly. He's been under appreciated for far too long and if there's any justice, his efforts should be rewarded.

Of course, it'll most likely be won by van Persie or Mata or someone of that ilk. But let's hope sanity prevails and our man gets what he deserves.

We all know the guy deserves to be recognised for his awesome displays just as much as we all know that RVP or Suarez will win it because strikers are the media darlings.

micha/carrick/RVP could be up there aswell, not becuase their "media darlings" just the fact that they have been very good so far this season.

He does his job, no more, no less. If youre looking at full backs Evra has arguably had a better season. Hes rediscovered his old form and is even more effective going forward than Zabaleta

What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. That is exactly why I will not allow my eyes the affliction of tripe, that is the Daily Mail.

Zabaleta, Van Persie (unfortunately), and Michu are my picks so far.

I suspect van Persie will win it, purely because without him United would be nowhere. Pretty much like Arsenal would've been last season and actually are this season.

Not to discredit van Persie's efforts, though. He has been seriously good at finding the net this season and I dare say that'll bring him the title. It's just a damn shame for Zab that this is what he's up against.
