Wide boys....

We've all been crying out for some width for quite some time.

Now, it seems, others agree with us.

Using your full backs as overlapping wide men is all well and good, but teams parking the bus let us do that. The time that the overlapping full back are really effective is when they get behind the defence and into the box. That's when they are really dangerous. Parking the bus can stop that vital supply line making us rather impotent.

In such cases, we need a winger with real skill and the ability to beat his man and get into dangerous areas. Even though Hazard hasn't looked good enough against the top teams, I think his speed and skill would have opened up some of the more stubborn teams that we have struggled against.

That seems to be how he has been at Chelsea: very good against poor opposition and poor against good opposition.

So the obvious choices would be Bale and Ronaldo, but we've got next to no chance of getting either imo. Is anyone else in England good enough to fill this role.....walcott maybe, but he doesn't want to play on the wing anymore and probably won't leave Arsenal now anyway.

So that mean looking abroad and that's a gamble imo. I'd like to know a few things about Sanchez first:
Would he fit straight in and be upto speed straight away?
Why is he suffering unrest at Barca?
How much would he cost?......hopefully not over £25m.

I think Sanchez cost Barca £20M-£23M. I haven't seen much Spanish footy this season (a tad boring) so I haven't seen what he has done. The Barca team is tough to get into especially now that Villa is back. Imagine trying to squeeze a top 5 out of Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Villa, Sanchez, Messi? 6 into 5 won't go and I don't even know about which other MF or Strikers they have.

I'm not sure he is good enough to get to the very top, but he is still pretty decent especially with that pace. He may be no better than Walcott though, great pace but doesn't always deliver.
