Educating City boys

Interesting article....just shows how much we invest in our youth academy. My youngest lad is best friends with a lad who's enrolled at Liverpool - he's 14/15....he moved schools this academic year to be at the school of their choice in St Helen's which is mixed with normal kids.

From what he tells me, it ain't great. Drugs, cigs....etc you name it, they get pestered and 'abused' into joining the 'in' crowd....

St Bede's has always been a very decent school, even wheh I was in school....glad they may all move to the 'Campus' come next year and be looked after, away from temptation...

When I was at Manchester Boys...several of my year/s and lower came from there, including our Captain who was at Man United...they always said it was a great school.

I was at st bedes in the late 70s early 80s
It was mainly priests teaching and it was an intimidating place,they seemed to really enjoy hitting kids

My fellow Man Boys were there from 83-86....they liked it.

Maybe they like priests????

I remember getting punched in the stomach by a teacher who was an ex boxer when I was 12. He was one of many at my school. I think two 16year olds gave him a hiding once they had left school. Of course he had them prosecuted.
