Clear out on the way?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/13/carlos-tevez-samir-nasri-city-clearout
I think it's quite obvious we need a change in personnel for next season and the top brass know this too. We trail the Rags by 12pts in the PL and failed to win a single game in the CL, finishing bottom of our group.......this probably isn't good enough in the eyes of the Sheikh. Ok winning the FA Cup is still achievable and here's hoping, but imo it's just covering over the cracks that have formed.
It's hard to disagree with the players rumoured to be on the "players out" list in the article, maybe Carlos and Barry could stay next season but City may just want to cash in and change things now......which is fair enough.
Mancini and Co need to act fast this close season and convince their targets the Etihad is the place to be next season.....here's hoping he does and it's us that's 12pts clear this time next year.

Re: Clear out on the way?
I guess the thinking is that selling players in the last yer of their contract mean you can still get some decent money in to help fund new arrivals.
That can so easily backfire as we have seen with selling NDJ on the cheap and with no adequate replacement.
What will we get for Tevez? Maybe £10M. For Barry, I really can't see us getting more than £3M-£4M. Is it really worth it then? Unless they are sold to fund top top players arriving, what's the point?

I guess we'll just have to trust the powers that be with that one Dawg.
Will Tevez want to go, is also a question we have to ask. If his desire was to return to Argentina at the end of next season, he may well just want to stay at City and run his contract out. If he was going to pen a new contact for longer than a year at a new club, then why are we not getting him to stay with us???

Barry has got another season in him. He's been one of our consistent performers.

If Tevez wants to go back to Argentina then i fully understand that but if he is going to move to another club in Europe then we should offer him a new deal.

FFS - why get rid of Barry. He may not be able to run as fast as me - but he's still a good, solid player and we have been damn glad of him many times. I would hate to see him go.

There isn't much point selling Barry for £3M or £4M. Better to keep him to play a decent number of games next season and help bring younger/newer players through. Then keep offering a one year contract if he's good enough.

I agree, we should let Barry stay on year by year contracts as long as he is good enough and wants to stay.

I'm off to Macy's tomorrow Steve - LOL. City game is on early and we put our clocks forward last week so only 4 hours behind you. If City lose of course I won't feel like going shopping - and the kitties better look out!!!!!!!!!!
