Time added on to 'added time'
The City players and Mancini were furious that the ref blew for half time during a period of sustained pressure by City. The ball was scrambled out of their box again but only as far as Tevez on the edge of the box but as he shaped to fire it across the box the ref blew his whistle.
He was taken to task by several City players and Mancini as he left the pitch but waved them away and tapped his watch and held up his fingers to indicate that he had played the required number of minutes added on.
Now fast forward to the end of the game where we are 2-1 up and wanting the whistle to go after the 4 minutes added time came and went. They are pressing us looking for an equaliser and pinning us back in our own box yet the whistle is not blown, 5 minutes pass and we are into the 6th minute before the little oik blows after their latest attack flounders. It would have been interesting to hear Mancini's post match interview if they has scored with that last attack.

Re: Time added on to 'added time'
Garcia and Kagawa came on in added time, which at 30secs a time is about right.
In the 1st half, there were no substitutions and he blew his whistle at 46.10, so tbh I think he was entitled to blow his whistle when he did....he can't let a passage of play play-out just because we were attacking (although he probably would have done if Utd were doing the attacking).
Shit, do I sound like a Rag here.

Re: Time added on to 'added time'
I'm with you Shaken. Not quite sure why we were complaining to be honest. The time is up when the time is up.
There was added time to the 4 minutes because of the 2 substitutions and because of the Silva injury, which then led to the 2 minutes of handbags.
Of course, if they would have scored then, I would have been royally p****ed off. But, I thought Mike Dean had a relatively ok game.

Re: Time added on to 'added time'
I think he played beyond an extra minute because he was waiting to see if their last attack scored but when VK took possession he blew his whistle. I'm sure had they been about to play the ball in like we were at the end of that first half, he would not have wanted to face the wrath of old bacon face as he walked off and would have let them play it out.
I actually think its good refereeing to wait until a move breaks down before blowing the whistle, as he did for them at the end.
Am I sounding slightly paranoid
