Pellegrini rumours increase
This afternoon my brother called me, with the old " my mate knows someone who knows Dennis Tueart" telling me Pellegrini was going to replace Mancini in the summer. I took it with the usual pinch of salt until I switched on Sky Sports an hour or so ago....!

Re: Pellegrini rumours increase
There seems to be an awful lot of bets on him being the next boss, which is a bit worrying. But what if Bob wins the FA Cup, do we still ditch the manager who won three major trophies in three years?

Particularly in light of the Purplenose/Gollum situation! Surely now is the time for stability. And I've been Bobby's biggest critic this season!!

I reckon the increased betting all emanates from the same source, right or wrongly, we've heard these from the horses mouth/ dead certs stories before, and it's more than likely a load of bollox, funny how it happens on the eve of a big game? A hoax by someone to unsettle the team?

Re: Pellegrini rumours increase
Remember how many managers get close to odds on with the bookies for jobs? Jose was about evens (or less) for the Man U job. At least 3 or 4 were at very low odds for the Sunderland job. Most times it is just the bookies that start the rumours. And remember, it doesn't take too much money for a bookie to slash the odds, sometimes just a few hundred quid.

Nice that Ian Darke and McManaman announce this news (rumours) on ESPN this morning - on the cusp of the FA Cup Final.

This is a manager that has won sweet FA for over 10yrs, why the frig is he linked to take over at City.......someone really is takin the piss surely. As titbum said, this is now a time for stability..definately not a time to be employin someone who's consistantly won kak all.

We do need a new manager as Mancini is clueless and been shown wanting so many times this year, but Pelligrini does not look the answer? I'm not sure who else is available, but I would begrudgingly say stick with Mancini unless somebody markedly better is available.

It's a shame Jupp Heynckes is retiring.

Re: Pellegrini rumours increase
I thought we would have learnt a valuable lesson after watching the soap opera that is Chelsea these past 9 or 10 years With our past history and the fact that only 2 clubs have successfully defended the premier league title in 22 years it seems ludicrous to me that we are not backing the manager after giving him a 5 year contract less than 12 months ago.
Ok he has made some mistakes this season but hasn't Fergie, Wenger and uncle tom cobley & all at some time. It did not appear to do them any harm as they continued to have success with support from the board. Ok Wengers more recent record is not great in terms of trophy wins but he still has the opportunity through support from his board to win more silverware in coming seasons.
Unless someone Better than Mancini is available then I hope the city board take note.

Re: Pellegrini rumours increase
I've been thinking about this and I feel a bit ambivalent about it all. On the one hand, we crave stability and Bobby has given us our first cup in 36 years and first league title in 44. Also, we don't support City for glory, cos if we did we'd all support the rags instead.
On the other hand, that display yesterday... We needed a trophy to put at least something onto a disappointing season and the team went out there with completely the wrong attitude. And it's been like that for weeks, that cocky swagger which isn't just unbecoming, but given our tepid season, entirely inaccurate. And sadly, I can't see anything changing.
The fact nobody at the club has said anything is a concern...

The club are partly to blame, Bobby is partly to blame, the players are partly to blame.
Bunch of fookers the lot of them.
