To simply answer your question....YES!
Not a hope in hell of winnin the PL, they're fighting to get a CL place at the minute.

Without Rooney and RVP, they'll struggle to get 4th especially if Suarez stays fit and on fire.

Re: Are the Rags Deluded?
If they get that reputed £60M a year from Nike (5 yr deal), then they'll have more money to spend but they'll have to pay over the odds to get top players. If they aren't in the CL, they won't get top players and they'll have to play catch up. Now wouldn't that be funny?

Re: Are the Rags Deluded?
The rags are currently six points and a massive goal difference off Liverpool and that fourth CL place. And if Everton win tonight (and I fully expect them to), they'll be seven points and goal difference off. To just get up into fourth, they need this to happen as a bare minimum:
- Liverpool and Spurs to lose two games
- Everton to lose two games draw one
That's a big enough ask, but to win the league, they need that AND at least these things to happen as well:
- Chelsea and City to lose four games and draw once
- Arsenal to lose four games and draw twice
This is never going to happen. Chelsea and Arsenal haven't lost four games in total all season and I can't see us doubling our lost games tally despite the fact we still have to go to the Emirates, Anfield, WHL and the swamp.
Without Rooney and RVP, it's hard to see where the rags are going to score enough goals to win games themselves.
To put it another way, we're in second place, one point behind Arsenal, and I don't think we'll win it this season even though we're the favourites to do so. For any rag to think they have a better chance than I think we do, they'd have to be deluded to the point of being a dipper...

AND in addition....they have to win all their own games too, unlikely given their results so far.leopold wrote:The rags are currently six points and a massive goal difference off Liverpool and that fourth CL place. Re: Are the Rags Deluded?
Yep. Forgot to mention that little nugget! It therefore stands to be said, for every game United lose, every one of those teams needs to lose another one as well.
I really do hope the raggies fall outside the top four this season. In fact, what I'd really like is for Sunderland to knock them out of the C1C and then get an FA Cup final featuring a team that's not in the top six, just to close down the Europa League to fifth place and shut them out of Europe altogether. Not that I think one single season out of the CL will be enough, but if it's enough to make potential signings think twice about a season of no CL football, that might just be enough.

I'd still like them to qualify for the Europa League as that is tough on a team having to play on Thursday and Sunday.

Try right-clicking the picture, select "Copy Image URL" and then on here, click on the "Insert an image" icon and paste what you copied into the URL box. Or is that what you did before?
