I'm glad we've got two top attackers playing as well as half a good midfield. Would have liked to see Rodders and Jovetic start though.

Bit of an unnecessarily strong team if u ask me. I would have liked to see 1 or 2 more youngsters given a chance
Just hope none of Aguero Negredo Fernando or Navaso pick up an injury

We can't be playing too many youngsters. We can ride the odd injury as has been proven when Sergio was absent.

I think MP has done the right thing in putting out a strong team, as the old saying goes nothing succeeds like success.

Get that winning mentality

I like the look of Lopez. Slightly unbalances our shape though so west ham should have a fair amount of the ball tonight.

Lopes has looked good. Boyata isn't going to make it. Garcia back to giving the ball away.

Sergio to be subbed for Dzeko for me.

WTF with the added time bullshit? 1 minute when Mo Diame was down for at least 3 minutes.

Anyway, a decent enough performance. Even though the opposition was poor, Lopes did not look out of place.

Neg's shoulder doesn't look good. It would be good to get a bit of stability up front now that we are getting to the sharp end of the season

Negredo can have a week and a half to recover as I don't see him starting at the weekend (Dzeko and Aguero for me).

AT fookin last!!!

MP has shown some faith in one of many of our excellent Academy/EDS players...and though WHU are a very poor team, Lopes was superb on and off the ball tonight...well done kid on showing that 1st team football is within your grasp.

Overall...pretty average performance. 3 good goals, 2 assists for Lopes and a MOM......thought Fernandhino was excellent tonight. His reading of interceptions, coolness on the ball was class.

Lescott did well, not sure wtf Nasty was doing on 2 or 3 occasions in their box!!

Sounded to me in the post match interview, that Lezza is definitely off.....that can only mean we must have somebody lined up (Dante to United is the rumour...you sure it's not us?)

Negredo - don't think it was anything too serious, otherwise he'd have come off....not sure he would've played on Saturday anyway - so a little rest, he'll be fine.

Jovetic gets some game time...though to be fair....for 30 minutes was non-existent. Will reserve judgement on him until he's had 4 or 5 games...but something doesn't sit right with him IMO.

Let's see who we get tomorrow...not really arsed who, but United at Wembley...and a  heavy defeat of them would be superb...though them falling short and getting knocked out at the swamp by Sunderland, but be as sweet.

9-0 agg...can't complain, players got rested, others got game time...Nasri one week closer to a return.

Top class CB before Feb 1st would round this off.

Pretty spot on summary there blueboy. Fernandinho was class, lopes looks a great prospect and a clean sheet.

Thought this was funny:

West Ham might have had a penalty after the break when Ravel Morrison was tripped by Joleon Lescott but Allardyce said: ‘The way things are going for me, we wouldn’t have got a penalty if one of the Manchester City players had punched one of mine in the face.’  Razz

lol!

It always seems to be the way, the team that's losing lots of matches seems to get the decisions go against them. But the reality is, all teams have about the same number of overturned penalty calls*, it's just when you're on a losing streak, they have a bigger impact on your season. We've had penalty shouts denied us as well, but normally they wouldn't change anything as we've won the game anyway.

* Except Liverpool. They get penalties whenever Suarez falls over in the box.

Another BFS funny from last night:

Asked if he is close to signing someone before their trip to Chelsea next Wednesday, the Hammers' manager added: “I’ve no idea. Every time I get [close to] a new signing, somebody else f*****g takes him!”
