Looks like Porto have made him sign another contract in return for him to be allowed to leave in the summer - £25m buy-out clause???? WTF.....he was on offer last month for £7m.....better players out there..

Totally agree blue....but City'll still pay £25m and get him in the summer, only to find out he's shit afterall

Isn't it Porto being the mercenary here or am I reading that wrongly.......they made him sign a new contract knowing he is likely to go in the summer and ensuring they get a gob of money for him....I dare say they have upped his money to sweeten his decision....

2 things:

Porto...clearly knew he was going in the summer so want more than nothing for him.....all clubs would at least try to get him to do that.

As for Fernando....by signing it for the sake of an extra £20k pw for 4 months....has probably just blew his chance of a move to City.
Even IF, some mad fuckers would pay £25m for a player that nobody has really heard of or seen....and the player get's his 10-15% signing on fee of £3-4m....he could have negotiated a £5m+ signing on fee and £80-100k pw in the summer.

This all sounds to me like the player is either happy at Porto and wanted them to increase his wages, or he and his agent are fucking stupid.

Option 2 for me....so agree, sounds like a mercenary and should've told Porto to do one..

Let the rags fork out £25m for him. We should just walk away, like we did to Kaka and Hazard. Tell 'em to do one, we've got FFP to contend with.

For that money, we could get much better. In fact, we could comfortably get a reasonable full-back as well as a centre half.
