Liverpool - title contenders?
So the dippers are two up against Sunderland right now, which means they go back into second. But they've done it from a free kick and a lucky deflection. They've had more of the ball, but not really created much. From what I can gather, the Mackems are making them look pretty ordinary.
So are they contenders or pretenders? I'm thinking maybe the latter. If we play a similar game to Sunderland, contain them and then hit them on the break, we could get three points without too much of a problem.
On a related note, have our tickets already sold out? I was looking for them, but all I found was a note saying "sold out"

Ah, John O'Shea, you're as good as Dzeko when it comes to missing sitters... Still, Sunderland showed up the Liverpool defence as being a bit weak. I reckon we could do them at Anfield. My only worry is having Sunderland to play yet.

Back the OP, i have to say yes, i think they are contenders. As ordinary as they looked last night, they still won and moved back into 2nd....so they can't be dismissed.
As long as we beat the Arse at the weekend, i'll more than happily take a draw at Anfield....the only real tricky game i see after that is at Goodison, but by then we might not need the win.
There's a long way to go with lots of football still to be played, but the good thing is, the destiny of the title is still in our hands.
Oh and leo, where was the lucky deflection for the 2nd goal....it looked like a pretty decent finish from Sturridge when i saw it last night.

I read on the BBC live text thingummy that it pinged off O'Shea on the way in. Maybe it was the curl made it look like that.

don't worry about Sunderland Leo we are at home they have taken 1point of us in the last 10 games at home so we should be confident of beating them.

Yeah, but you can guarantee that this is the season they decide to snatch another one off us. Or maybe all three. I just can never tell with the Mackems. I'll be happy for a scrappy one-nil win against them, just to get it out of the way.
God, I hate this Cityitis sometimes, it doesn't half spoil the fun

Bollocks, the only game to worry about after this weekend is Everton away.....all the others will be won comfortably

This weekend will be huge for the title. If we beat Arsenal, then we have, on paper, two tough games left at Liverpool and Everton. We could slip up elsewhere but that would be really disappointing. I expect Liverpool to power past Spurs if Spurs don't turn up again.
