Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.

Some fella from the MEN wrote a story saying Utd. may still be in pot 1 if they qualify next year. No fucking chance as at least 5 or 6 clubs will leapfrog them if they get through the groups stage.

I think the DT ran an article saying that Liverpool's slim hopes of making pot 2 were over. Slim hopes? No fucking hope more likely. They needed 5 teams seeded above them to fail to get through the qualifying stages.

Still bugs the life out of me that the Gooners will be in Pot 1 as normal, assuming they scrape through qualification knock out.

The gooners deserve to be in pot 1 because they have a good record in the CL at least in terms of qualifying for about 10 years in a row and usually getting past the first stage. Their domestic record is nothing to do with it so i dont have a problem, unless i'm missing something?

MCM, it's because we've been champions twice in the last three years and are reliant on teams like United not being there to get bumped up to pot 2, whereas Arsenal, who've not been champions of anything in the last decade, get to hang on to their big seeding despite not even gaining a direct route to the group stages.

That and Whinger trying to get us booted out AND have out trophy taken off us, of course!

Spot on Leo, We should be seeded above them, plain and simple. It's the CHAMPIONS League, the clue is in the title. The current champion should always be seeded highest of that country's entrants.

In the old days of the European Cup we would be on the only team in it next season.

But Leo, we also have had chances to improve our seeding. Not getting out of the group twice has cost us many many points. If we'd got through our group last season, we'd be sat in 15th spot right now.

Fair point guys, it does seem unfair, direct qualification as champions should trump qualifying as runner up or as low as 4th.

In a nutshell.

It should (but it doesn't) have NOTHING to do with how you've gone on in previous seasons. League winners should be in the top group....end of!

Whilst I agree that we should get something for finishing 1st in our league, and should be seeded higher than those teams finishing 3rd and 4th, we've blown our coefficient by either not qualifying for european competitions or getting knocked out early.

The 5 season coefficient, using your countries coefficient too, is all about keeping the existing top clubs right where they are.
