City will be seeded in pot 2 in CL

Currently we are 22nd but 6 teams above us haven't qualified, so will be seeded in pot 2 next year.

We need to get out of the group and then we will be in pot 2 the season after that as well.

To be in pot one in two years time, we'd have to get to the final next year.

If Utd. don't qualify next year, they'd be in pot 3 (at best) the next time they qualify.

No idea how this works, but please don't tell me Arsenal are in pot 1.

I don't get this pot system at all. Is it purely because the gooners squeak out of the group stages every year that they get this high seeding? It sure as hell isn't anything to do with being actual champions, is it? Are Chelsea in pot 1 as well?

Just checking the UEFA coefficients and Spurs are higher ranked than we are. How the fuck does that happen, they've only been in the CL once! Shows how the Europa can bump up your standing quite nicely, I suppose...

Arsenal and Chelsea will be in pot 1. Arsenal get 20,000 points, or so, every season for getting out of the group. That's 100,000 points over 5 seasons.

Arsenal are also helped because Valancia and Utd, above them in the rankings, haven't qualified which moves Arsenal from 9th to 7th.

Utd. will be in pot 2 should they qualify for the CL next year.

Our failures (either not qualifying for anything or not getting out of our group) have held us back.

The Europa League provides valuable points. Spurs got 4,000 fewer points than us this season.

So it's done on a points system over previous years and not where you actually finish at the end of the season.....what a load of crap that is.

I guess we have to start performing in the CL then....if only to get "easier opposition" in future years.
