Etihad Phase 2 Expansion - 55,000

It's funny how it's being announced now, when that end of the stadium has been boxed off for half of last season!

The video of how it's progressing is pretty much as I would've expected it to happen, extending backwards first so the south stand can still be used, then opening it all out when the time is right. I'm not so sure about they way they've incorporated the existing load bearers into the building, but I realise it would've been impossible to remove them as they're basically holding the roof up.

And of course, it'll look a damn sight better than the eyesore that is the swamp, with all it's scaffolding to prop it up.

I think it looks excellent - really jealous of you Den. You'll have a great view overlooking the away fans as well.

I thought the new stuff was the seating pitchside.

Oh, yes, that bit is new, because that wasn't going to happen before. I can't imagine they'd be very good seats, though, as the ones currently on the front row are too low down as it is.
