I'm in Paris Bluey, but a few miles from the center. Only found out about that recently as lots of relatives leaving today after mt brother-in-law's wedding. My missus went off to London for work so really busy with that and my fucking computer. Even my mum called to see what was going on. Lots of bad stuff before Christmas but that was just the odd loon, This has got very serious, very quickly. I can see some retaliation and some copy cat strikes. Bad news.

I'd stay clear of the city centre for the time being. If these aren't caught, I can see them re-grouping, re-loading and going out on another spree to satisfy their martyrdom.

I don't think they are looking to flee the country. These sorts of atrocities and they want to die and take as many as possible with them.

Policewoman killed in Montrouge this morning responding to a traffic incident. I have a friend living there and had a meeting this morning with someone who had to drive through there this morning wondering what had happened. Scary time in France.

Seems the gunman this morning was of North African background.

The Yemeni/French gunmen were fairly light skinned....hope they catch them soon.

Looks like they have taken a hostage and are now surrounded in an industrial area near Charles Ge Gaulle airport.

Reports that 2 further people have been killed and 20 injured in a shoot out.

Even though it is the other side of Paris from us, people feel scared.

I think they'll try and keep the situation calm, unless they threaten to kill the hostage/s.

However, there really can only be one outcome to this - them and possibly the hostages and Police being killed. They will not give themselves up.

They've shown they don't care for human life and the hostages will be in the gravest danger. They've nothing to lose as they are finished anyway. I can't see the police/military sitting waiting.

Charles de Gaulle have closed the northern runway. These guys are supposed to have a rocket launcher but I guess they'd need to expose themselves to be able to use it properly.

Reports, unconfirmed, that this situation will come to an end within a few minutes.

Depends on what type of RPG they have...but yeah, they'd have to be fairly close and have a clear view of a stationary target....I'd be more concerned for the helicopter if they decide to go out with a bang...it looks like it's only about 200'....and they'd have no time to react.

In Dammartin. The school is 500yds from the print shop. They say town officials have spoken by phone with the gunmen and they said the children can be evacuated.

Looks like a coordinated and timed attack by SF....maybe they had been tracking potential conversations between the two incidents by the terrorists.

Unusual for the Police/Military to make a simulated assault unless they were both about to execute hostages - some hostages have been freed in the centre.

Been told there are massive traffic jams everywhere. We live about 20 minutes south of Paris and it's apparently jammed around here. 30 minutes to travel 2 kms
