Chelsea v City Live Thread
So...massive game today. Just listening to TS and it's great to hear us being wrote off. What made me laugh were the comments made by Ray Parlour - "Chelsea know how to close out a title"....I nearly spat my water out! In the previous 3 seasons, haven't we come from 10 points off in 7th and 7 points off in 3rd to win the PL twice??
Anyway...guess it's better to go into this game as the underdogs...as long as we don't play them!!
Quick start absolutely necessary. Aguero needs to be firing like he was before his injury. Kompany needs to recapture his form from 3 seasons ago, so does Zaba.
Navas - as we all know he'll play, needs to stop doing everything he's been doing since he signed and start getting decent balls into players feet/head - preferably our players!
Not sure who he's going to pick, whether he sticks with the Ferdy twins or he brings Lampard in to try and unsettle the crowd and opposition players...which might not be a bad thing psychologically.
Even though I would prefer him to start, I think he'll stick with his predictable line-up instead of going all out to win this game - shit or bust....no points, 1 point or 3!

....Zaba..............................Vinny.................DeM..............................Clichy....

Sagna vs Hazard? WTF????
Can only suspect he has hurt himself in training or the warm up. Fuck...he's in my FFS!!

Line up just announced... Your team, but with Sagna instead of Zaba.
Yeah, I don't get that either. Looks like my prediction is still on.

Team to face Man City (4-2-3-1): Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Ramires, Matic; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Remy. #CFCvMCFC
So no Cahill or Drogba...not sure I'm arsed either way with Sagna playing.

They'll park Ivanovic on Serge and Matic on Silva. And we'll have no answer for it. We don't even have Nasri on the bench. It'll be 3-1, with any of Ramirez, Oscar or Hazard scoring. And ours will come from Lampard in the last few minutes.

Not looking forward to this. Sagna? We have two creative players who will be marked out of the game.

But that's the Engineer for you.
He's set this team up to get a draw....and the likelihood is, we'll get over run by Hazard, Willian and Oscar.
The Ferdy fuckwits better have the best game they've ever played and the likes of Sagna better have his skates on!!
That said, they'll go and make me look a right twat - again, and win 3-1. ...but very much doubt it.
We need Sergio and the Merlin to have wonderful games for us to win this IMO.

It looks a weak team without Yaya, Nasri and Zabba.

It's not a time for humour Wensdi....
We COULD get a battering here, be 8 points behind Chelsea, 2 points ahead of Soton and only 4 points ahead of the scum!!!

MP you complete arse! Glad I'm at a do in Brighton and not watching.
Will happily eat my words but just can't see it. Might as well just get pissed then.

There's always time for a little humour Bluey - pre-match - cos we'll probably all be sobbing after the match.

And I put him in as my captain on my FF team!
Oh, hang on, it looks like Silva might get it instead. Ah well, a goal's a goal. Come on City!

Re: Chelsea v City Live Thread
Still....please, please, please.....can anyone tell me how Matic can cross a ball from 50 yards away (at least 1-1.5 secs) in the air....and Sagna can still be 15 yrds away from Hazard who just easily squares a ball? Also, the ball is in the air that amount of time, plus the cross, and both Kompany and DeM can allow 2 players to be 5 yrds away from them without any challenge whatsoever?
That's nothing short of catastrophic defending.
It'll be this fact that will lose us the PL.....it needs sorting ASAP and if Zaba IS fit, then the Manager wants a twatting at some point.

Always thought Chelsea would score. Our defence just isn't good enough anymore. Lucky to hit back before half time, we needed it.

Excellent cross from Navas and great shot from Aguero - Silva's goal though. Think they have all stepped up their game actually. Even Sagna has had his moments. Happy with the first half - at least we look up for it.

You'll have to look elsewhere mate, I'm at a total loss to understand it. All I can think is, they're marking space and the incoming players are in a different bit of space.blueboy wrote:Still....please, please, please.....can anyone tell me how Matic can cross a ball from 50 yards away (at least 1-1.5 secs) in the air....and Sagna can still be 15 yrds away from Hazard who just easily squares a ball? Zonal marking = bollocks. I've said it so often I'm bored of saying it myself...

Re: Chelsea v City Live Thread
Think the Ferdy twins have worked hard to be fair....but it'll not win us this game.
The Manager will have to decide if he wants 3 points, 1 point or 0.
For me, he'll keep it as tight as he can with the error prone defence we have, and then if Chelsea score, he'll get Lampard on and one of the twins off....and maybe, he'll even decide to get the useless £120k pw RB off for a true City player and get Zaba on.

We've had more possession than them - just have to step up the defense - Kompany is way off his game.
