City vs WHU - Live Thread
Plenty of injuries, plenty of players out of form.
The defence will clearly be a problem today - and I can see Zabaletta being dropped as well.
.............................................Hart...............................................
Sagna.......................DeM......................Mangala.................Kolorov
.........................Fernando..................Fernandinho...........................
...........Navas............................TLMLF..........................Silva...........
............................................Aguero.............................................
Have sneaky feeling that with all of the pressure he and the team are under, he'll try and ensure the MF wins the battle as if it is an away game. However, he will no doubt choose to partner Aguero with Dzeko and keep TLMLF as a CDMF with Fernandinho.
Not arsed really - as long as we get 3 points.

I think West Ham have some injury concerns too. We've got to win games like this if we want CL next season.
I think he'll stick by Zaba as he'll want as much experience as possible.

City have won 3 games when Lampard starts scoring 8 goals.
Thank fuck he's not gone with 2 up front.
Will he play Lampard next to Fernando and unleash the lazy one??

In 11 games when Dem and Mangala have started, we've only lost one game.

If Dedryck only started training again on Friday, how can he be on the subs bench?
Get a kid on the bench instead and play Yaya at CB if we have an injury.

Are you saying the problem with the defence has been Kompany?blueboy wrote:In 11 games when Dem and Mangala have started, we've only lost one game.

Samir is so gone in the summer! Time to put up and shut up now we simply must get 4 wins from home games and hopefully Nick one away.

Great tackle from Yaya to help start that goal off.

Re: City vs WHU - Live Thread
2 players that have had a load of stick - been our best players today.
Navas has looked bang at it...
Mangala looks every bit a top PL CB....have the faith!
Even TLMLF looks to have upped his effort by 10%..
Great to hear Joe Hart screaming non-stop throughout the game at all the players to press them...even screaming at TLMLF and Aguero when they were near their box.
2-0...we need to make sure that whatever happens - we keep that same intensity - no excuses for the second half.
Let's put them to the sword.

no dawg Liverpool to beat villa so saints qualify for Europa so don't give us a hard time last game of season, & villa will have semi cup hangover.

Silva stretchered off. That was a red card - elbow straight to the cheek!

Took our foot off the gas and plenty of silly mistakes and lackadaisical play.

12 mins to go...and we see exactly what Dzeko is all about - wank.
Pozo on the bench, 2-0 up.....

Navas got the stadium MOM...definitely Mangala for me. Excellent performance.

Re: City vs WHU - Live Thread
If it was 3-0 then I'd have let Pozo on. We were looking wasteful and ready to wobble if they scored. 2-0 is too risky.

Re: City vs WHU - Live Thread
I'd have given it to Sergio because he took some knocks and was hobbling yet scored a goal and set up a couple of great chances.

Re: City vs WHU - Live Thread
Mangala, or Joe for me the rest... well were much of a muchness for me pussyfootin around the 18yard box looking for the perfect goal instead of putting their boot through it, the 10 minute build up instead of the incisive urgency of a team wanting to go for the jugular. It was all too pedestrian & lets face it we are not going to come up against a team as poor as west ham for the rest of this season. Villa & QPR need points to avoid the drop Saints & spuds for ropey league Only Swansea could be labelled as a holiday team but they are at home.

Beat Villa and at least we ease a bit of pressure off us. After Christmas I thought Chelsea had a tough run in and maybe that would help us. Now I look at their run in and am thankful that they beat the Rags and could take something off the Gooners too.

Well played Navas and Mangala. Not as many goals as we all wanted - but much better team effort - even from YaYa. 5 points for me

I knew there was a reason why we gave up scoring. We should have pasted them 6-0.Wensdi wrote:Well played Navas and Mangala. Not as many goals as we all wanted - but much better team effort - even from YaYa. 5 points for me

Re: City vs WHU - Live Thread
Midfield looked very balanced today. Mangala and Fernando both had good games for me, Toure was looking better in that set up too.
A bit too much arsenalitis going on at times though, particularly from silva. Shoot once in a while!

While it would be funny if Chelsea did slip up now I really could not bear to listen to the gooners if they go on to win the league. If Chelsea win we can always say it's their anti-football that won it for them.
Just need to gooners to do enough to beat our dirty Salford neighbours so we don't have to start our season in July.
