Fernando not even on bench so could be an injury? In I longer arsed. Just go all out for win and we are secured 2nd. A point and scum can't catch us.

So, 3 keepers on 13 clean sheets, Courtois on 12.
One of them is Flappyanski - so a clean sheet today will take Joe to 14 and the lead.

A 1-0 win, courtesy of David Silva, will do for me.

I know we sometimes call the chuckle brothers in midfield but it's noticeable how easyily we are overrun in midfield with the TLMF back. Take the point now and straight into group stages next year.

Scores a deflected goal....and you could just see him then start to switch off, more and more as the game went on.
Then, for their goal...he's just fucking stood there marking grass and leaves Gilfy unmarked....lazy wanker!

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
Yaya maybe lazy and annoying but at least today he fucked off the tippy tappy and was prepared to have a go which resulted in 2 goals. Why do we have to walk the ball in or look for the extra pass or in Navas's case get out his bloody GPS to find the goalkeeper. AS much as it was a good game to watch we really need to sort out our defending & our sloppiness at giving the ball away.

We were fucking awful today. Sloppy, over-passing, crap crosses, Aguero was shit, Silva has opted for an 'in-the-box lobotomy'...dreadful.

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
Once again though, we had plenty of chances to kill that game. Navas with an open goal decided to pass it to their keeper. That would have made it 1-3 and I think that's the way it would have stayed.
Silva had a great chance but, instead of shooting from 8 yards, decided to have 3 touches and the chance was gone.
Navas was hopeless (no change there).
Mangala misjudged the flight of the ball for the 2nd goal and Kompany was dire when he came on.

Never mind... One point and we're nailed on for second. Unless Sunderland get anything.

Don't really think Navas' chance was an open goal Dawg....tbh, i was half expecting him to miss the target completely.
Couple of notes:
Hart's save was unbelievable....world class infact.
No-one will EVER convince me Mangala's good....even in time.
Wtf has happened to Vince, he's all over the place.
Navas has to go.
Why can't Yaya play like that all the time?

For a professional footballer, with only the keeper to beat, he has to score. The keeper was miles away and he hit it like a fucking back pass.
Taxi for Kompany?

Hart's save is one of the best I've seen this season - incredible save.
Mangala - have to admit, he didn't fill me with confidence yesterday, but tbf, DeM was awful as well.
Kompany - agree, maybe down to being out for so long, but he looked lost.
Navas - absolutely awful. He crossed when nobody was in the box, he passed when one on one with their defender. Beat the defender for pace and he was pretty much clear through on goal. Terrible.
TLMLF - first goal was a deflection, second a poor mistake from the keeper. Good shot, but sorry, apart from that, he did fuck all as usual. Their first goal he was just stood there marking grass and watching what was going on...Fernandinho was trying to watch Gilfy and cut off the angles, whilst TLMLF just couldn't be arsed. Said it at half time - once he scored, it was if "fuck it, I've done my bit now".
One other thing - why did MP put DeM, probably the slowest player on the pitch, in CMF? It didn't cost us in the end, but very bizarre choice.
Oh, and well done Bony - cool finish for his goal. He seems to be getting a bit of stick off the media, but ffs, he's only started 3 times and scored 2 goals and 1 assist.

Yeah, and he was shit then as well.
Just read this in the DM match report.....I fucking wish!
Then the climax, with Toure hitting his 51st of the season and Bony doing what Bony always had a habit of doing in these parts. It might just be the spark he needed. It might just help determine if City can stay the course next season.

So many in the media are coming out in support of Yaya. It makes you wonder if they just watch the highlights...

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
as I said earlier id rather have toure going for goal than tippy tappy around the box & it comes to nothing. Granted his overall contribution leaves a lot to be desired but when he picks the ball up & runs at defenders he is virtually unstoppable & the net result was 2 goals & both came when we were under the pump which relieved the pressure. The other point about a deflection blue is that without pulling the trigger once in awhile there will never be lucky deflections His second was a mistake by the keeper you already dubbed Flappyanski so he was right to have a go.
Bony really did hold the ball up well when he came on Swansea in one instance had 4 players around him & he still managed to shield the ball from them until help arrived.
Surprised they didn't give Kompany a run at dm he started there with city. I think Kompany needs a good rest & pre season He was bound to look rusty as he hasn't played for 5 weeks. Not defending him but glad there is only One game to go till the end of the season so at least he should get some time to get into shape for next season.
Mangala did not have one of his better games but the thing I was pleased about was for the 1st time since i don't know when he won 3 headers from corners ok one was well of target but 2 on target.
was wondering why Kolarov has improved so much these last few weeks is it because he is getting a run of games?

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
Some good points Oz....I think this point you made is a key one:
Granted his overall contribution leaves a lot to be desired but when he picks the ball up & runs at defenders he is virtually unstoppable & the net result was 2 goals & both came when we were under the pump which relieved the pressure.
The problem is, he did that twice and it ended up in goals. When was the last time we saw him run at defenders/dmf's and shoot? He's done it a couple of times this season - but nowhere near enough nor as much as last season. If we take away those two runs and goals - the sum of his effort was almost negligible yesterday....and sadly, that's been him all season. I still think, IF he was to stay, we cannot play him in that deep, CDMF role. His effort in helping the team out defensively is almost non-existent. We can't have him contributing two runs at the opposition defenders as his sole contribution to the team, as on another day, the deflection wouldn't have happened and a keeper would have saved his second.
He needs to play further up behind Bony and Aguero - but that's the problem, as it means dropping another player....and Milner's work rate yesterday was immense. 12.9km...by far the highest distance covered - and surprisingly, and also good to see - Silva was 3rd behind Jack Cork (who I thought had a decent game, along with Montero for the Swans). Silva really has upped his defensive duties lately...but needs to stay behind for shooting and finishing practice, as he was awful in front of goal. Shame, if he finished half the chances he gets, he could easily and should easily be, a 15 goals a season player.
Agree, thought Bony did really well when he came on...his strength is immense and makes Dzeko look like some 5 year old. Would like to see him play with Aguero next season and buy somebody who can cross the fucking ball! Navas....dear oh dear, what an awful player. It will give us more options, especially on the counter-attack, as he has such good hold-up play and with the likes of Ageuro and Silva supporting him quickly, it could destroy teams...but it'll mean changing the tactics and formation slightly - and making sure our defenders improve for next season.

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
If Sergio did bugger all during the game and scored a goal each game, would we complain?
When it comes off, people can eulogise about Yaya, but it only comes off every few games which isn't good enough.

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
Sergio NEVER does bugger all....he might have been average like yesterday, but he always gives 100%...that's all any fan thinks is the minimum.
Sadly, TLMLF does it whenever he feels like it....and doesn't give us a goal a game - if he did, then he would definitely get less stick off me.....

Re: Swansea v City - Live Thread
agreed every few games is not good enough but from yesterdays point it was good enough. I like most on here want him gone but for yesterdays game only he made 2 valuable contributions which got us over the line.
As regards Navas I was so excited when we heard he was signing for us at last after letting Johnson go and not replacing him adequately I thought we had bought a real gem & couldn't wait to see him terrorise defences, 2 years on I am still waiting. Get rid whilst we can still get something for him.
