Would you let Kompany go?

Would you let Kompany go?
He's been pretty much a liability this season and always seems to suffer from injuries, but I'd like him to be given another season to see if he can turn things around.
Having said that, if someone offered £40M for him, then I'd let him go.

£40m??? I'd snap their hands off as well.
He's been plagued with injuries, which has clearly contributed to his poor form this season and part of last.

Maybe he needs to get on the same diet as Serge, it seems to have sorted his injury woes out and he looks much fitter, too.
Vinny's not going anywhere, I expect. Dimi will be out come the summer.

What, another one? Or is this the same one and I'm imagining it happened last season? That's entirely possible with my memory...

PSG? They could have the dream CB combo of Luiz and Kompany.

Well, if Sideshow Bob was worth £50m to them, Vinny must be at least £75m. And they can have him for that!

I'd hate to see him be sold....but I'm not so emotional about our players these days. They get paid huge sums of money...and apart from a few, they mainly take the money and run....and good luck to them.
I don't class Vinny as one of them, nor do I class Hart, Zaba, Sergio, Jimmy and Silva amongst them. The rest, wouldn't really make any waves for me, if they left.
If any of the mentioned left, I'd be gutted....but football's changed and we'll never see the likes of a Terry, Lampard and Gerrard again stay at clubs for so long.
However, I think we need to do what's right for the club....but what has pissed me off is the FFP issue over the past few years, as we have the money to keep any player we want - and hopefully, we will do this summer.

No, neither do I. He's always been a decent spokesman for us, showing dignity and class in both victory and defeat. I'm sure this season has been a blip caused by injury more than anything else and that his misplaced attempts at bombing forwards have been out of some misguided notion that he needs to show us he's worthy of his place. He doesn't need to do that.blueboy wrote:I don't class Vinny as one of them, nor do I class Hart, Zaba, Sergio, Jimmy and Silva amongst them. He's also one of a very small number who came before the money did, so he gets us more than many of the newer lads do.
I don't really want us to sell him, but if it DID come to it, I'd want him to be sold for what he's worth at the bare minimum. You're not just getting a decent defender, but a proven captain and a proper spokesman for the club. Like I say, if Bob is worth fifty mill, Vinny must be worth even more.
