Not Watched a Lot of It

- the Women's or Ladies WC footie - but well done England today - put up a good fight against Norway.  First time they have advanced from the group stage.  I'm sure you guys aren't bothered about it but I suppose it's here to stay and the footie isn't bad at all  - especially Germany and France.

Watched the 1st half last night, then it got a bit too late....but glad to see they won this morning (great winning goal too).
It ain't the best footy you're ever gonna see, but then again i do watch Bury, so i'm used to it .
Shame the quarter-final's in the early hours at the weekend, guess i'll have to wait til the morning to see how they got on. By all accounts it's against the host team Canada, fingers crossed they can upset the odds and get to the semis.

They're doing better than the men's team have managed in the last two decades!

I've not watched much of it either.  I did see the game the girls played against France (who, like our ladies, play better than their male counterparts and looked very fluid indeed) which they narrowly lost in and I thought we did well to hold them to that.  Have to say, their tenacity last night was good to see, they didn't panic when they went behind, they worked hard to get level and then in front - with a cracking strike, too - and then didn't do anything stupid and protected the lead.  Not a pretty way to win, but in the knockout stages, every strategy is valid.

Canada should be an interesting proposition.

Great to see our MCFC ladies scoring the goals.
