Transfer window bollocks

We aren't going to get anyone of note that we want, except maybe Sterling and we are paying through the nose for him.

Delph has knocked us back. Pogba isn't breaking down doors to get to us and de Bruyne needs time to think about things.

I think this will be another crap window so I'd like us to batten down the hatches and promote some kids into the 1st team squad. Iheanacho and Denayer should definitely be there and there should be space for Pozo and another winger. There's no point on buying 2nd rate players on big wages if they aren't going to improve the team as they won't make much difference to us.

We saw at the end of last season that we are still good enough to win games, maybe not the big games,  but enough to be challenging for the league title. I don't think we'll win it unless we really improve our consistency or buy another two top players (who aren't available).

Maybe we'll have to accept that next season will be one of transition, though that was what this season ended up being so two in a row isn't good.

Txiki and co have been a massive let down and should be let go.

Look, to sign the top players isn't going to be easy....you don't just say "here's £70m come to us" and the player says "ok".

There are image rights, agents fees, the club who wants to keep the player.

There are only 3, maybe 4 realistic players in world football we could get...and it looks like we'll get Stirling. Pogba is now rumoured to be still on, if hey can get him to put in a transfer request and agree image rights. De Bruyne is going to see what Wolfsburg say, as they claim they'll make him the 3rd highest player in Germany....but that doesn't mean he'll stay.

I would suggest we hold fire for at least 2 more weeks and see where we are at. If at that time, we've still not signed anyone of interest, then fine, we should start panicking.

We may get Stirling by Monday. Then we could easily have De Bruyne by the end of next week.
That leaves Pogba and another striker.

I'm sure some of the kids will be included in the squad next season, but we moaned about the B rated players we brought in last year....so I can only see 3, maybe 4 signings for the first team squad.

For me, as I've said before, Lacazette is a must. He's come out and said he wants to leave and LFC and Arsenal are looking at him.

Stirling, De Bruyne and Lacazette for me, would be realistic signings for next season, complimented with some kids.

I'd still like Schneiderlin though for £25m.

I'm just being honest bluey. If we were going to sign top players, we should have done it by now. They need time to bed in. Remember Mangala's protracted transfer last season? He wasn't ready to play. Maybe if he'd joined at the beginning of July, his transition would have been smoother.

On the back of a shitty day yesterday. Decided to go visit some castles but the traffic was horrendous all day long. Same today. Fucking joke at the tolls, queuing for 20 minutes to pay. Didn't see any castles and then I find that Delph has jizzed on us.

From being very positive before the window opened, I've lost a bit of faith. Khaldoon talked billy big bollocks about buying top players to take us to another level. Well, I just don't see it happening.
