The more I think about Stones...

I think he is a must sign for us.

Several watchers are saying that john Stones will be a future England captain. He is rated that highly by them.

That list includes Terry Butcher, Rio Ferdinand, Andy Gray, Stan Collymore. Even Jose wants him.

Now, if Chelsea are prepared to pay £30M for him, I don't see why we shouldn't be willing to pay more than them.

Listening to Goughy on TS, he said the lad would prefer to stay in the north as his family is here. He'd certainly get more game time with us than with Chelsea. He's better than what we currently have and can play RB too.

It would be brilliant to go forwards with Denayer, Mangala and Stones (20,24 and 21) and they could form our CBs for the next 10 years.

Kompany looks past it and we need to move on. Dimi will probably leave us next summer or, at best, he'll get a new 12 month deal but only as back up.

We need to pay whatever it takes to get Stones.

I listened to Stuart Pearce today who said he's the most complete young defender he's seen.

I don't give a shit how much he is, just get him and be done with it.

If it means Vinny even, has to sit out some games until he gets his head together, so be it. Top, top CB's come along very rarely. Top, top English one's, even less so.

I'm sure Everton don't want to sell him and rightly so. However, as we know with Liverpool, money talks and if we've got £35m to say "here you go Ken, let's get it done" then do it now, before United get him...as he's their missing piece in the their jigsaw, so why are we allowing it to happen?

We could gain a player - and stop another team improving their chances of finishing above us this year.

We have to do it. If Chelsea want him, then they are looking at him to replace Terry for the long term. If he's as good as everyone says, we should be at the head of the list especially since that is an area where we are terribly weak.
