Is this a record? Same team 3 games running?

Come on WBA.
WBA 2 Chelsea 3.....Terry sent off.
And WBA missed a penalty in the first half. No Berahino...bet Pulis is kicking himself.

Why no Berahino? They could have at least got a draw. Tough season ahead for WBA if they are going to leak goals against decent teams.

Shit first half. TLMLF back to his lumbering best.
Aguero's been non-existent.
If anything, Navas has been our best player.
Sergio needs to pull his finger out and get in this game.

Navas missed two great chances to score and put the game to bed. For me, he just helps to spread the play wide and makes the defence pay attention to him. They needn't bother.
Bring on KdB.
I was surprised that Sterling and Aguero were taken off as that took away a lot of our pace. Aguero looked tired and needed taking off but I would have left Sterling on.

Navas played better than he normally does though. Well done Samir - showed Navas how to put it in when you are one on one with the goalie. MOM - Silva - just controls the game for us. So fortunate to have him.

Thought Aguero was poor today.
Navas, if only he had an ounce of composure, could easily get 10-15 goals per season. But he was our best player in the first half.
Silva once again, magnificent.

I'd have given MoTM to Silva. Defence played well considering the pressure cause by Lukaku's mere presence.

He was excellent, so was Vinny.
But don't tell Dawg, he'd have DeM in to replace him like a shot!

Mango is getting better. Gave a silly free kick away in a dangerous position but otherwise solid.

Did anyone notice the incident where Barry jumped with a leading arm and caught (?) in the face just like the incident with Fernandinho against Chelsea when Mourinho and several TV pundits were convinced he should have been red carded. This was almost identical apart from the cut head yet was considered barely a mention.???

Matic's was worse today when he looked at the player and led with his arm. He already had a yellow card and got nothing for this.

Yes I did MCM - I said the same thing to my son - it was only a big deal when it was Ferdy last week. As you said - barely a mention this week.

Same for me with Monday night games Oz - try not to see the score - but there's nowt worse than looking forward to watching City - and they lose - but they haven't yet. Let's hope they keep it up. See you got the 5 pts there Oz.

Umm...I thought Mangala looked very suspect myself and the booking didn't help his cause. His distribution was poor, struggled against Lukaku in the air and gave away stupid free kicks in dangerous positions.
That said, it was a great result against an Everton team that'll always fight n scrap for everything....especially at home. A win next week sets a new club record doesn't it....surely Watford at home should be the 3pts needed.

Was obviously just me who thought he was just average then.

Re: Everton vs City - Live Thread
I saw mistakes Den, but overall he was good. Giving that free kick away was daft when he could have just ushered the guy sideways across the pitch. But others made mistakes too, so we can't focus on his.
Aguero still isn't firing on all cylinders and Navas can't shoot for toffee. Wanker didn't pass to Aguero when we should have put the game to bed (Aguero is my FF captain and Navas cost me decent points).

Re: Everton vs City - Live Thread
I only got to listen to the second half in the car as I was on my way home. Sounded like we'd been pressing a lot, but with little end result (shades of last season?) but I did get to hear the two goals, which was pleasing. It did sound like Serge wasn't on his best game and Navas was being his usual wasteful self.
And the commentators said Mangala did well against Lukaku (who seems to be a tricky customer anyway), but they feel there's always a mistake in him.
Still, not complaining. After the dreadful performance against Stuttgart, having a starting three games of West Brom away, Chelsea home and Everton away, I'd have been okay with four points. But sitting at the top of the table, three wins, 8 goals and three clean sheets is pretty much exceeding my first expectations.

Aguero had two decent chances in the first 10 minutes. Navas had two good chances at the end. Silva hit the post. It was a tough old game but we are still creating loads of chances.

Re: Everton vs City - Live Thread
It's always a tough game at Goodison. Glad we came through it with a win at the end and it shows we've got the grit to beat teams too, as opposed to being allowed to win by inferior opposition *cough*Chelsea.
Is it me, or are we seeing shades of the 2013/14 season here, with all this attacking football and dogged defending?
