Re: New Gascoigne Documentary - online link
Just finished watching the last 15 mins of it.
I know some hate him, dislike him, think he's wasted his talent etc etc etc.
I think if you watch it, listen to him and others in the documentary, he really didn't stand a chance. The things that the press in particular, did to him, were nothing short of disgraceful.
Yes, he did some stupid things, but mainly because he had no real guidance on how to behave in the public eye, and he was the most celebrated footballer around the world, in his day.
Seriously good footballer, with an amazing talent, who could have done so much more but for the 3/4 horrendous injuries he had.
I for one, really enjoyed the documentary.
Let's hope players of today watch it and see how things can turn out badly if they are not listening to the advice of those around them.

Yeah I already watched it Blue
Very enjoyable documentary. He was a brilliant player but the way it went downhill was a tragedy
Raheem needs to watch & learn

Agree Tony. It was he, who I was intimating at....but not just him, all young players today.
TBF, none of them have his talent, but the message is clear in this documentary - thankfully, at least kids of today have the club support he didn't.
As much as I hate to say it, maybe he should have signed for Taggert and the rags.
