CL - Champions League Empty CL - Champions League

Post by Wensdi Wed Oct 21, 2015 6:30 pm

Finally, found a remote channel which I have never used before which is apparently showing the match.  Bit ticked off that only the Rags match is on Fox Sports - and I have to spend hours looking for a channel which may or may not show the match live.  (It's on Fox Sports 2 at 11 pm tonight) which is no use nor ornament after the fact.

Hope we do as well as Arsenal did - they were fantastic against Bayern and played with great pace.  We need to do that - I know we have mega injuries - but we should pull it off at home if everybody turns up.

We're looking weak at the back again here... Sagna and Zaba are getting turned over fast too easily. Ota and Mango aren't quite on the same wavelength. Bony is trying, Sterling is not being strong enough. Yaya is working hard and Navas has been very good. De Bruyne had been pretty impressive too.

We should be able to win this, but we're still not complete here, something is missing.

We are ragged at the back, and for me, unfortunately Zabba is the weak link. Continually out of position or over-committing himself. Definitely at fault for the goal, as he left his man.
I hope it is just a temporary dip in form.
Still love him though!

Fantastic result. Undeserved after a 1st half where we were battered but its a 90 minute game and at the end there was only 1 team who looked they were gonna win

That KdB is the signing of the season !!!!

Not sure if that was a deserved win or a get out of jail free card for the 2nd CL game running !!

Juve held to a draw too, GAME ON !!

Well, we dodged a bullet there! Sevilla should've been out of sight, but thank god for Kev, eh? Thoroughly deserved his goal, I thought.

I don't mind winning when we're not playing so well, it makes up for the games when we're battering teams and still lose.

We were utter bollocks especially down the flanks when defending, and I use that term loosely. Sterling not offering much for me, just a body that is fast. Navas played well with some decent crosses and trying to get past his man on several occasions.

No atmosphere, lots of tourists in the home end.

Thought Mangala was excellent.

Navas did really well.

KDB took his goal brilliantly.

The rest were average.

I still think a lot of fans mistakenly treat Bony as a like for like with aguero. that is why a lot of fans seem disappointed with his contribution, some are even saying they would prefer Dzeko back. I liked Edin , But certainly not the dzeko of last season & listening to that commentator on bein sports last night he was basically saying if aguero doesn't stay fit city's season is over coz we got rid of Jovetic & dzeko. That must've been the reason we were so bad last season then as they were always injured so we had no cover.

On another note the commentator was just totally anti city his comments were always derogatory . slating how poor mangala was, how we need Kompany as our defence is all over the place, Navas had a quiet game & kev flitted in & out & stated the bleedin obvious Bony is no aguero, ( but who is?)

He made a point of mentioning admittedly a very poor corner from kev  saying again & again how bad it was that's not what city need sums up their night etc etc then a couple of minutes later sevilla do the exact same thing and lo & behold not a word. It really sounded like he wanted us to fail so he could twist the knife further.

I usually turn the sound down if things get so bad but I wanted to hear this one out. I will watch the beginning again to find out who the jerk was. Yes we didn't play as well as we can but hey ho we got the 3 points & no injuries ahead of sunday.

I really hope Vinny is back for the Derby. I thought we looked poor in defence and were very lucky not to be 2 or 3 behind at 1/2 time & I see MP is saying his place is in jeopardy !

Zabba and Sagna were out of position too many times. Its great that they get forward but not at the expense of leaving the defence short which happened on numerous occasions. The marking at times was really bad. Their goal for example was just piss poor marking

I thought Yaya played pretty well for him Navas dangerous & KdB was good again

I also wish MP would stop fucking about with the formation especially in Europe. 422 doesnt work for us. We started to look better once Bony was off and Fernando on

to be fair, even Barca would struggle with 4-2-2  Surprised))

Danny Mills was commentator on BTsports 2.. sprouting utter carp all night.
I think when Bony was switched off when Stirling laid a ball through that should have been a glorious chance it was time for him to be off..

maybe it's match fitness/sharpness, but he just seems very lethergic.. spending too much time with Toure seems to be rubbing off..
we can't have 2 players of that ilk in the team..

Its Malaria my friend. You never quite recover from it apparently.

Arsenal fans where saying Kolo Toure went off the boil after he contracted Malaria. It stay in your system...

Rotten luck for us it would seem!

Hi Oz - the commentator was Johnathan Pearce - he was extremely negative about us the whole match - failed 3 times to progress, commented on how much money has been spent etc., blah blah blah.  Magic when KDB scored - he had to say "He's done it" - after having nothing decent to say about anyone all match.  What a knob.
