I'd like to think that most people wouldn't want to see those pictures. It really doesn't add to the story and invades their private grief. I saw pictures on the bbc website.

ISIS claiming this video proves they shot it down. Not so sure, guess we'll see, as the aircraft will have clear evidence of fire etc.

Very sad and tragic for so many families. We live in a very sick world, however, it's difficult to avoid the feeling of irony if this plane was downed by terrorists after Russia's involvement with the Dutch plane in Ukraine.

And the apparent supporting air strikes for Assad - targeting innocent Syrians, doing ISIS' job for them.

too many people in power are fucked up.
Now you have the airline, who've quickly changed their name, saying that an external force caused the plane to break up in the air.
They wouldn't be trying to deflect blame as any report won't be out for a while will they?

Not great if they have suspended flights indefinitely from Sharm.
Suggests they have intelligence on an 'insider' threat at the airport and that more attacks are planned.

They just can't take the risk. It's unheard of to ban flights from a country isn't it?

Not really Dawg.
You have to remember, our DfT (which is now not a Government entity, but part of the UK CAA), have to not only look after the security of our airports, but those airports that Brits fly to (on the whole). Completing Security audits, writing enforcement notices if an overseas airport doesn't come up to scratch etc.
Problem is, if the audit is announced, what do you think happens?
That's why covert audits are carried by DfT Inspectors on overseas and UK airports. They have the power to suspend, revoke airport licences, suspend flights etc if they feel an airport isn't stringent enough to secure the safety of British travellers and the Government will tell airlines "you don't allow flights into that country until further notice", which then effects tourism in that country until a change is brought about.
Obviously, it's not as simple or straightforward as that - but that is basically what happens.
The fact that the UK are the only country to outwardly suggest it was an IED planted on board - suggests that the information has come through intelligence, rather than actual evidence from the aircraft wreckage at this point, but maybe (and the evidence in pictures suggests also), they have had access to the CVR/FDR and the wreckage and it's fairly clear that an IED has caused the crash.

If you see the way the fuselage is twisted outwards, it suggests that a blast/force etc created that - rather than a simple aircraft break-up.
Aircraft skin, doesn't peel outwards like that, even with a rapid decompression, it tears apart.

Russia are still trying to pick a fight, so I doubt the they will be daft enough to hit a second plane..

Russia could just steam in there with some ground troops now. Kick out ISIS and prop up Assad.

Tbh, i really don't know why Russia haven't decided to kick ISIS' butt for this. That said, i don't know why other countries haven't already got together to kick the living shit out of um.Topdawg wrote:Russia could just steam in there with some ground troops now. Kick out ISIS and prop up Assad.
