City's badge is going to change

I dare say we're all well aware of the recent consultation regarding our badge.  Well, the results are in:

The only thing I could truly glean from this is that we're going to go back to a round badge, and that there will be symbols to represent the club and the city of Manchester.  I'm guessing it'll end up looking almost exactly like the Holy Trinity era badge, but possibly less red.  I suspect, given it's the product of committee thinking, that it'll be pretty bloody boring.  A bit like this:

That doesn't look inspiring. I thought a lot of people wanted the eagle, less the stars.

Tbh, i don't like that top badge...it's boring as hell.

I'd stick with the current badge,, no re-branding anything...

To be fair, that was just someone's impression of a possible badge, which I chose because it has the boat, the stripes for the rivers and the Maltese Cross (which we had on our kits when we were St. Mark's). I didn't notice at the time how much like the others it was until Bluey pointed it out. But I suspect we'll end up with something like that.

I find it of no coincidence whatsoever that, when the CFG took over Melbourne Heart, they replaced their badge with the Melbourne City one, which looks like the NYCFC one. I also find it totally lacking in coincidence that there was a fan consultation opened up to discuss our badge, even though nobody was really all that bothered, and the results apparently are that we all want a circular badge with more blue on it. This is all nothing more than a rebranding exercise by the CFG to get all the clubs in the group into a similar look and feel. I suspect the consultation was nothing more than a soft-soap exercise to get us all to thinking we had a say. They've already got a design, we can see it in the Melbourne City and NYC badges.

I prefer to actually just wait and be pleasantly surprised (i hope).
If it does turn out to be very similar to the Melbourne and New York badges which incidentally only share similarities in that they are round, which we all mostly wanted anyway, they have some blue in them but one has red in it as well and the name around the outside. Where else could you put the club name on a round badge that wouldn't look stupid? Isn't that where it was on the previous round badges we had?
I might actually hate the new design too but i will wait until i see it first, i think recent events have got us all a bit depressed, cheer up lads ffs 

From what I'd heard, it seems most City fans want the ship back. I'd be alright with that.

I don't dislike the current badge. Got used to it over the years and it isn't bad. I don't think it's got much to do with manchester

I'm only skeptical about the reasoning behind the change, that's all. I don't actually mind the change, and frankly I don't mind the apparent styling of the CFG badges deployed at NYCFC and MelbCFC. The one I posted is a bit understated, but then do we really need a flash harry badge? Personally, I don't mind what we get, as the badge isn't playing the game.

We need a badge that represents the City. Strangeways, Red Lion and Rusholme Chippy!

On a serious note, simple is good. Not overcrowed it with crap. Less is more. Keep it elegant with few colours and get rid of those damn starts!

i honestly don't get why it had to change from the eagle. There was nothing wrong with that in my eyes. If it is the one with the ship & red rose on it then it is just a throwback to the previous one of the 80,s & 90

As moon said earlier, it should have "FOOTBALL CLUB" around the bottom......with the "CITY" next to MANCHESTER.

I'd personally have the 3 stars on it too....hopefully this will be added too in years to come.

in all honesty i'd have kept it as it was or had something like Manchester's #1 on it to piss off Trafford.
