COC Semi final
Only seen a few minutes of the Liverpool vs Stoke game but Liverpool look poor. How on earth did they beat us 4-1 at our place???
We are miles better than each of the other semi finalists, but they just put in way more effort than us.
Willy (big mistake)
Zabba, Dimi, Otamendi, Kolarov
Fernandinho, Delph
Itchy, Silva, Kevin
Aguero

Re: COC Semi final
I'm a bit like GSUS at the moment, I've a distinct lack of interest in this, and a lot of things. Something is just wrong with the club at the moment and I think it is rubbing off. Yaya should not be playing at all and Pelligrini is simply a Bell End now, sorry but I'm at a point now where my opinion is he is stealing a living with us.
This is the worst premier league in the past 2 decades and we should be 10 points clear not even playing well.
This is just a distraction that will stoke the "Pelligrini is ace" fire if we win it, when he is clearly anything but.

I'm in the same boat as you BB. Normally I would have been busting a gut to get to the match but I decided to do some work instead. It's that bad at the moment.

Well, I'm still going. Half arsed or not, I'm not going to be accused of being a glory hunter, I want to be able to point to myself on the TV and say, "See, even go to Crapital One Cup games, me!"

I don't get it at all. I will be mighty disappointed if we don't get to the final. Regardless of Pellegrini it is a bloody cup final. All those barren years when we'd have given our right arms to be in the position we are in now. If pel gets us to the final & we win it I will be the first to congratulate him & the team. If he is as bad what does that say about wenger, Mourinho, etc all have fared worse over the years some better but as it stands at this moment the only one faring better is Ranieri.

Re: COC Semi final
And it's not about glory supporting or we should just win every game, it's something rotten in there. I'm no manager I will admit but for our defence to be as shit as it is must be somebodies fault. They do nothing to change it. Yaya should be dropped, won't happen. Bellend manager thinks he is the only player that can pass.
Fair weather it might be, but it's the only protest I can do, with this bellend in charge.

Get get lazy bastard off for KDB...the opposition have blue shirts on, mark one of them instead of blades of grass!
We're still in...but every time they break they break with serious pace....wish Otamendi would stop diving into every tackle!!

Re: COC Semi final
You had Mills - I had Robbie Savage on my phone - he just finished knocking KDB - when he scored and shut him up. Still we are only through as we robbed Everton by that ball being out of play. No mention of the disallowed penalty last time. Millions and millions worth of talent on our bench dontcha know.

Re: COC Semi final
I thought it was a very good performance apart from a spell of 15 mins in the first half, where we'd chucked everything at them and hadn't scored...the obvious happened. Everton bypassed lazy fucker (mistake 1), then Otamendi did his usual "let's see if I can win the ball with a flying tackle from 6 feet away" (mistake 2), the centre parted and allowed Barkley a great strike, but I thought Willy could've done better (mistake 3).
A bit of luck with the comeback goal but it showed great spirit.
TLMLF lolled around the pitch for most of the game...basically wanting the ball deep, then not really doing a great deal with it.
When they had the ball, he did either of two things:
A) try to mark a player who was already being marked by a city player
B) just run into spaces and marking nothing, rather than picking up their runners.
Felt sorry for Delph, maybe TLMLF should have exited at half time, however, Navas was a good move by MP.
With the sudden increased tempo and energy, I think MP then realised just how inept the lazy one is and hooked him; another good decision to leave Sterling on, as he could easily have brought him off at that point. That was the game changer with KDB on...TLMLF off - allowing us to play with 11 on the pitch again. Immediate change in tempo and no surprise to see KDB involved for the last 2 goals.
Real shame he got injured. Let's hope it's not ruptured ligaments and it's just strained as we possibly won't see him again this season if it is.
Thought the atmosphere was great. Looked to me as though Everton fans in the CB stand above me were trying to kick off during the game...not sure what was going on, but credit to MP...he got his tactics correct.
Oh, and fuck off Martinez you whining cock-jockey!
Loved watching his reaction in the interview....the Everton fans thinks he's shit and with a win ratio of 24% over the past 3 years and 27% at Wigan....think it proves he's a media darling, but absolutely shit manager.

Re: COC Semi final
You have got to hand it to Pellers with the changes he made. But I think there was more than an element of luck too.
We've got speedsters but we don't use them properly. Reports say it's medial ligaments which is up to 3 months normally. Such a shame as he has 12 goals and 12 assists this season. He should have been knocking on the door of player of the season with those stats given he missed the first few matches as well.

"another good decision to leave Sterling on, as he could easily have brought him off at that point"
Well i would have done, he was fuckin useless again.
Thought our 2 CBs were absolutely woeful last night, it was a good job Everton didn't really threaten too often or we may have been in real trouble. Overall though, City deserved to get through, they seemed to want it more and their energy levels were top drawer.
Navas and KDB made huge impacts on the game and Everton just couldn't handle it.

Re: COC Semi final
Good! That'll teach him for overlooking the four decisions that went his way, including the foul in the first half that led to their goal on the night. Everton don't get decisions in their favour, cah, do me a favour Martinez, you've had nothing but good fortune from refs against us this season.Topdawg wrote:Looked like Martinez had been crying!
My thoughts on the players last night:
- Willy was terrible for their goal and flapped a lot in the first half. However, in the second he started to actually collect the ball instead of beating it away, showed good strength when needed and made a fair few catches in dangerous areas. He actually started to look like he might be a reasonable keeper!
- Otamendi and Demi were hopeless. Ota charged into every tackle like a bearded assassin. Some paid off, but he could've been off the park with those. Demi is too slow to cover so much ground and cover everybody, he's turned way too easily and Barkley made him look like a cone in training.
- Zaba and Clichy were excellent. Clichy isn't rated and I'm struggling to see why. He read the game very well, was always where he needed to be and, for the most part, was hard for them to get past. Zaba got forward well, defended hard, but he did get turned once too often, showing he's clearly missing a little match fitness.
- Delph had a reasonable first half, made a good few challenges, but he seemed a little out of sorts at times.
- Dino had a cracking game, mopping up in midfield, making life hard for the opponent and scoring a goal when we really needed some hope. A close call for MOTM for me, and still our player of the season as far as I'm concerned
- TLF... Best thing he did was get subbed off! To be fair, he did get stuck in, but he's so slow on the ball.
- Silva did a good job, picking the ball out of the air with his usual quality of first touch, but I don't feel he made quite as much impact as he could.
- Sterling, that cross aside, was a huge frustration all night. He didn't run at anyone, he bottled out of 50:50 challenges and he only really switched on when Kev appeared.
- Serge... What can I say? He made a complete nuisance of himself all night. Didn't give their defence a moment's peace, was very quick and controlled on the ball, even when he had two players harrying him, Should've scored in the first half. Glad he eventually got a goal, he really deserved one. MOTM, just pipping Dino to the post, looking back to his impressive best. But let's hope he stays injury free now, we really do need him.
- Navas actually made a big difference in the second half. With him and Zaba both charging up the right flank, the Everton defence wobbled a bit to try and contain him. I still wish he'd take a man on and learn how to cross a bit better, but we looked stronger with him on the pitch.
- KdB was the perfect example of an impact sub. Once he got up to speed with the game, he turned it on it's head. Great goal and another assist to add to his list. I just hope that injury isn't bad.
- Fernando... Didn't have much to do, but I'll admit now that a part of me worried that he'd make the error that cost us the tie.

Re: COC Semi final
I'm still in my mini protest mode but I did watch the highlights on Channel 5 (OMG how shite is their coverage) and if TLMF starts one more game this season I am going to continue my protest. How much better are we when he is not on the pitch !! It's like night and bastard day to me.
Where is an African Cup Of Nations when you need one
Use him as an impact sub if needs be, but please please please never a starting player.
Navas is slightly improving too, if he could only cross a ball like KDB, but he is going to have to step up big time with the injury.
