City v Spurs - Live Thread
Massive game today. Lose today, and the title is over for me.
We've been in these situations a few times over the past 4 years, when we've had crunch games where we've not been playing well - and suddenly, something seems to click into place and we go on a strong run in. Will this be that game? It needs to be.
It really is time for TLMLF to pull his finger out and have a brilliant game - if not, and we lose, he should be benched for the remainder of the season...his efforts are just not acceptable.
More injuries, but Vinny and Silva fit (or at least available).
Team for me (that MP will go for):
Hart
Zaba, Vinny, Otamendi, Clichy
Fernandhino, Fernando
Silva, TLMLF, Sterling
Aguero
I'd rather we went the other way:
Hart
Zaba, Vinny, Otamendi, Clichy
Celina, Fernandinho, Silva, Sterling
Kelechi, Aguero

Meh... We've been 8 points adrift with fewer games left and still won it. Although we weren't as far back as fourth, granted. But we need to get back to winning ways and we need to pay the spuds back.

Win, and we are in touching distance again. Lose, and we start to get a bit far away from all 3. Draw, though not great, isn't too bad.

Subs: Caballero, Kolarov, Demichelis, A.Garcia, M.Garcia, Celina, Iheanacho
And both Garcia's on the bench....

Look at that bench....that's one of the weakest benches I've seen in a few years from us....but hey, we want the kids to get a chance, maybe now's the time.

Jesus, our squad is thread bare !! This is the time, no excuses, a win and its 3 points between top 4, so all back on !! Lose and its 3rd or 4th at best.

Wow, the first 11 better do the job as Willy, Kolarov, Dimi and Manu don't fill me with confidence.

Win this game and we really should just about cement our top 4 spot. 9 points ahead of the rags, a far superior GD and only 12 games to go.
Surely, even City couldn't stuff that up.

Liverpool 6-0 up on Villa with 10 minutes to go. And we couldn't hit a barn door with a fucking banjo against them.

They have to be the worst PL team in PL history...the defending makes ours look top class.
Lescott and Richards are pathetic.

Yaya is a liability, end of. That should be 2 yellows already

Some of our players, not just Yaya, look slow and tired.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
We had a reasonable start and some decent periods, but Spurs have had far too much easy possession. Danny Rose is stood out left all on his own half the time. Need more from Silva, Sterling, Yaya

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
Well...that was nothing short of shite. Pathetic, slow, no pressing, terrible passing, poor tackling.
The only saving grace is that it's 0-0.
Fernando lolls around the pitch like TLMLF....who let's face it, could easily have had 2 yellows.
Sort it out MP...get TLMLF off this pitch. Do a Pochetino and give youth a chance as they can't be as fucking docile as that lazy bastard.

Don't know how to change things. Can't just ask players to put more in if they haven't done so already.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
He doesn't even offer anything in a no.10 role, so what's the point??
Kelechi on for TLMLF for me. More legs, more energy, definitely more effort than he gives.

Itchy would give us renewed energy, but who would you take off? I'd swap Fernando for Itchy.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
When Silva gets the ball, he's never given an option except for Aguero over the top. I'd honestly play Silva in behind Aguero, get Silva off this right hand side and play Kelechi there...with TLMLF packing his bags and fucking off.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
He won't take Yaya off just yet. He's done enough to warrant carrying on. A couple of runs which give some encouragement. What has Sterling done?
If we desperately needed the win, then swap Fernando for Itchy. Reckon he'll stay conservative as he'll be happy with a draw.

But you're just focussing on one player. There's 4 or 5 that don't give us enough. Sterling, Yaya, Fernando, Silva

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
He's done what exactly?
One run which he got caught and he had a 5 yrd start...one touch past Dier who got a card......and then what apart from nearly getting two yellow cards?
He's a £230k pw player FFS!! Not acceptable.

OK...you take Fernando off, bring Kelechi on......against this team you really want lazy bollocks in a our MF against Alli? Cos that's what's going to happen if you choose to make your subs.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
Sterling, Itchy and Aguero should be putting their defence, keeper and midfield under constant pressure. That'll do me for starters.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
Believe me, I'm not happy about Yaya's contribution, but he's not the only one looking slow, tired and a little uninterested when we haven't got the ball. Sterling is way too soft in the tackle.

Re: City v Spurs - Live Thread
There's no excuse any more.
He's useless in a MF role....the excuse - he no longer has the legs or the energy (more like he's just a lazy fucker).
So when he plays in a no.10 role - what does he offer us there? Last assist? Last goal? Last real effort on goal? NOTHING.
I'm fed up with him constantly being shoe-horned into this team at the expense of energy and results. For that, I can't wait for the manager to fuck off...unforgivable, as he's allowing it.

Nobody has shone - I agree. But it's like we're playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch.
Time for him to step up - even if just for the next 45 mins.
