PL Team of the Year
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3552268/PFA-Team-Year-2016-snub-Arsenal-star-Mesut-Ozil-Leicester-City-Tottenham-dominate-four-players-each.html
So, starting at the keeper. Degea, Schmeichel and Hart all have 14 clean sheets. Schmeichel has played 110 minutes more than the other 2 keepers, but Hart has helped City to a CL semi final.
So, how does DeGea come into it? United aren't above us in the league, and at no point have been...and his team have won nothing?
..............................
The defence - I can't argue with any of those picks.
.............................
MIDFIELD.
Kante deserves his place. So do Mahrez and Alli. But Payet? Huh? WHU have won what and are where in the league? Or, maybe they are talking about goals and assists? If so, Payet has 9 goals and 9 assists. Decent for a MF player who takes all the free kicks.
Could easily have been KDB or even Erikksen. Toss up between the 3.
...............................
STRIKERS.
Kane and Vardy. Granted, both have had excellent seasons and are both sitting in the top 3 goals scorers and sit 1/2 in the PL.
Aguero has 22 the same as Vardy with Kane 1 ahead on 23.
You can see why they've picked them...but we'll see who gets the Golden Boot...and if it's Sergio, it sort of sums up what a mockery the voting system is. He could feasibly finish his career in England winning the Golden Boot on 2/3 occasions and never being voted into the PL Team of the Year...which is bollocks.
I also see that the printing firm who printed the Player of the Year nominations, leaked the list last night, that's why they had to publish it.

Re: PL Team of the Year
The MF is a tough area with the likes of Ozil and Kevin missing out. Payet's been injured too, but I'd have had Kevin above him since he tends not to take too many free kicks.
Sergio above Vardy and Kane every day of the week. He's missed a chunk of time and had to deal with the CL campaign (Vardy has had no European distractions or cup campaign) and Kane seemed to be on the bench for the Europa League only coming on for the last 30 minutes or so. You could argue that Sergio has scored some penalties in his tally (but so has Vardy and Kane I think).
It would be interesting to see the minutes per goals for all three of them for this season.

We know Sergio blows them away when it comes to mins per goals, he blows everyone away when it comes to that stat.

To answer your question:
Kane - a goal every 135 mins
Vardy - a goal every 135 mins
Sergio - a goal every 107 mins - the best ever in PL history.

.................Schmiechel
Bellerin.........Huth......Alderweireld....Rose
.....KdB.....Alli........Kante....Mahrez
............Serge........Kane
* De Gea's only in because he plays for the Rags...end of
* Vardy's had a decent season, one he'll never have again....but he's a cheating dick and doesn't deserve a place.
* Huth takes my plaudits at CB before Morgan.
* Kev gets my vote way ahead of Payet, i'd even have Coutinho in before him.

Re: PL Team of the Year
I think so. Vardy wasn't in the PL last season.
Sergio was showing 102 mins in an article posted back in Feb, but those figures were from an article 2 days ago...Vardy and Kane were both 120/122 mins back in Feb, but Vardy especially, went on a goal drought.

The mistake that cost Aguero his place in the Team of the Year...according to Pellegrini.

That wasn't the reason as he's done more than enough to justify his inclusion.

I agree...guess you'd have to justify why though? Same goals as Vardy, one less than Kane. Therefore, why should he be in the team ahead of Vardy?
Playing devils advocate.
I think MP is saying, if he didn't miss so many games, he'd possibly have another 5-7 goals, which would mean he would have to be included.

Re: PL Team of the Year
He's played fewer league games than both of them, fewer league minutes, but also played internationals, CL, COC and FA cup matches.

We'll see how Vardy and Kane fare next year when they'll have 6 tough CL matches to play.

Re: PL Team of the Year
But that's next year....and Sergio will still be banging the goals in, however, with Pep coming, we'll be the darlings of the PL next season - if we do well.
