City 3rd most profitable club
Football: Top 10 most profitable clubs in the world - according to Forbes
Results on the pitch usually, but not always, reflect the values of football clubs as their stock rises and falls as form fluctuates.
Manchester United topping the 2014/15 Forbes list of football's most profitable clubs, however, proves the exception to the rule.
Premier League clubs also have massive television and kit deals, which United hold the record for with their £750m 10 year deal with Adidas, to thank for their influx of cash.
Yet it still seems surprising that the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool earned more than Barcelona during the 2014/15 season despite the fact that the Catalans won the treble and were, in general, magnificent on the pitch.
It must be noted, however, that each club's standing is affected by the players they bought and sold which may explain why Liverpool manage to outrank Barcelona or why Schalke stand above Bayern Munich.
All of the top ten combined earned a profit of around $1.1 billion according to Forbes and the ranking of the footballing elite is as follows:
1. Manchester United: $190 million
2. Real Madrid: $162 million
3. Manchester City: $131 million
4. Arsenal: $122 million
5. Liverpool: $115 million
6. Barcelona: $108 million
7. Juventus: $81 million
8. Tottenham Hotspur: $73 million
9. Schalke: $67 million
10. Bayern Munich: $60 million

Re: City 3rd most profitable club
Last week I read that United had $490m wiped off their value this season alone.

Re: City 3rd most profitable club
not sure where they get those figures from and if it is just gross profit or EBITDA etc.
Anyway, CFG (City Football Group) should be valued above Utd if Utd have dropped even a little in value because the sale of 13% of the club to Chinese investors valued the club at about £2billion.
