Costel Pantilimon has been confirmed as City’s fourth signing of the summer after a work permit was granted. He is on loan for 12 months.


The 24-year-old goalkeeper joins from Poli Timisoara and along with Stuart Taylor will act as cover for Joe Hart following the departure of Shay Given to Aston Villa.

Pantilimon played twice against City last season in the Europa League and is a full international, having represented Romania at every level.

He won his first senior cap in 2008 and reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and Inter Milan, before signing for City

What's everyone's view on this keeper as a replacement for Shay? Personally I think he should be our number 2 as Taylor couldn't catch a cold.
