How many goals should our players score in a season?

I think this is a good talking point. How many league goals should our main players score this season?

Let's assume they play 32 league games each (account for injuries and suspensions).

Aguero - 30
Sterling - 15
KdB - 18
Silva - 12
Nolito - 12

Unrealistic....

Aguero - 25
KDB - 15
Sterling - 12
Silva - 10
Nolito - 10
Sane - 10
Navas - 1

I'd like to see more goals from our defenders from corners:

Stones - 4
Oatmendi - 4
Kolorov - 4

Add to that - our MF's

Fernandinho - 8
Gundogan - 6
Delph - 2
Fernando - 2


Then 10 for Gabriel Jesus.

That's 134 PL goals.

You are asking Gabriel Jesus, who is just a kid like Sterling, to join in January after a hard season in Brazil, and score 10 league goals whilst Raheem 'only' has to score 12 goals in the full season!

I guessed you were talking rubbish when I saw you had Navas down for one goal...

I was being controversial...and you took the bait. You can't have it both ways....both are kids still learning their trade.

I'll ask you a question....

Which would you rather have?

Sterling 15 goals 10 assists
Sterling 20 goals 5 assists

25 goals either way.

The point being....let's not pile a load of pressure on the kids back by saying "this is what constitutes a good return"....

Aguero? Fair enough. I'd be disappointed with anything less than 25 PL goals this season.

KDB - considering he takes the majority of free kicks, I'd be disappointed with anything less than 15 PL goals.

But let's give the likes of Sterling, Sane, Jesus etc a chance to play in this new system. Sterling's been excellent so far - but they'll be games where he just doesn't do it, for whatever reason.

I'm sure if we won 2 possibly 3 trophies this season, I'm not sure many would complain about individual players.

Let Pep do his thing - what will be will be.

They all know, 1, possibly 2 poor games and they may have to sit on the bench for a few weeks.

I expect Raheem to be involved with 30 goals this season. Whether they be assists or goals. But I hope he doesn't miss good chances too often.

Everyone was screaming for him to pass to Sergio on Saturday (not just because many of us had Serge as our captain for FF) because we didn't expect Sterling to score.

I don't mind so much of he doesn't end up getting too many clear cut goal scoring chances so long as he's contributing bags of assists.

And we won't be piling any pressure on the kid because he won't be reading any of our drivel!!!

If we're saying it....don't you think the media will? Or is your opinion not worthy - and drivel?
