Opinions please
I have a couple of long time friends who live in Lymm - who really feel that BREXIT is a total disaster and that the UK is about to fall off a cliff - and become a third world country. What do you guys think in retrospect?

Are your friends lefty, socialist thespians, with long flowing skirts, dangly earrings and arm-pit hair?

Re: Opinions please
how long have you got Wensdi..?
short term brexit be bad for UK
long term brexit be good for UK possibly.
The issues could be what happens if the action brings down the EU or starts things in motion...

No one really knows what will happen. Lots of chest beating and posturing, but no one knows.

Re: Opinions please
I voted for it and i'm glad the majority of voters did too.
Moons post sums it up...short term tough, long term good. We'll ride it out and reap the benefits when things turn round.

Re: Opinions please
I voted remain. mostly because I'm a creature of habit. I like what is 'known' and this leap into the darkness fills with dread.
the UK will come out when everything settles and should be OK or great in the grander scheme of things.
My concern was the EU itself is now beyond it's purpose. and as a major player in Europe we should have been there trying to rectify it. once we leave we can't impact this from the outside.

Re: Opinions please
Our business has received more orders for work from overseas clients since Brexit....the exchange rate for the dollar and euro is attractive to overseas clients booking courses and paying in £.
The problem is, just like many Governments, the EU is run by self-serving idiots looking to make a $ at every opportunity for big banks. It needs change - and the people of the UK voted.
The threats made against the UK Government by the EU over trade deals - goes against everything that democracy stands for...threatening a Government that gave 'the people' the vote....just goes to show where their interests lie.
If they were so concerned about unity, they'd be working closely with the Government to make it a successful departure for Britain AND Europe - but they don't, they see Brexit as the first part of their corrupt foundations giving way.

Re: Opinions please
I'm not as convinced as some here. I can't see how we'll get these fantastic trade deals as we'll be over a barrel - we'll be desperate to create deals and it'll leave us exposed. Plus, I'm expecting the next General Election to leave us with a UKIP government as the right wing idiots who thought Brexit would equal kicking out immigrants would find they were completely and utterly wrong.
It'll be what it is, good or bad. There's bugger all we can do about it now, so let's just hope the people making sure it works do a proper job of it and don't just fuck us over.

Re: Opinions please
I think one issue was played out yesterday in the by election. The conservatives were expected to hold their seat, which they duly did. But Labour's vote evaporated. The remainers in labour voted LibDem and the leavers voted UKIP. Labour were actually lucky to finish 4th. I can see something like that at the next general election unless something significant happens to the economy, NHS etc. Labour's vote may well collapse and they could be picked off by UKIP and the LibDems leaving the Conservatives to walk home.

Re: Opinions please
I too voted out and Im glad I did. Im not a right wing idiot. I'm just sick of spending millions on Euro beaurocrats, having Euro MPs & courts telling us what we can and cant do and our governments spending millions on benefits and housing for immigrants, (a small % of who will inevitably be terrorists) as opposed to putting it into the NHS or other more worthwhile services
Since the vote I'm fed up of all the constant scaremongering from the media, MPs & economists & all the whinging remainers who like to live in a democracy but think the Brexit vote should be overturned. Tossers
