Reports of witnesses seeing up to 10 people laying prone on the ground after a car drove up along the pavement....a Police Officer stabbed and gun shots being heard.....

Asian guy being chased with an 8" knife...SF guys on scene within 2 mins.

Reports now saying the assailant was shot dead.

It's kind of lucky that most of these attacks are perpetrated by idiots who really just 'go for it' without much forward thinking.

He wrote: "A car on Westminster Bridge has just mowed down at least 5 people."

Not looking good several injured on the bridge. Ill be amazed if there's no fatalities. Lets hope the terrorist dies - Slowly and painfully preferably

You only have to look at the Laptop ban on all flights to the USA from the MENA region....clear intelligence of an attack.

It's starting here as well....and wouldn't surprise if the ban extends to all flights.

I'm surprised that it's not all airlines and all flights.

It's like the attacker in Orly last Saturday who was really unprepared and ended up getting shot. Just lucky these guys didn't have guns.

Intelligence clearly see's the threat from that region, but wouldn't surprise me if this extends to all flights.....

And the airlines situation, anyone can just choose another airline or another country of departure. Maybe the security searches will be more thorough elsewhere, but it's got to be a worry.

Yep....be a pain in the arse to pack laptops in baggage - as it's against Dangerous Goods regulations because of the danger of Lithium Ion batteries in them.

Terrorism.....to spread fear and disruption. Doesn't have to be a major incident to cause widespread disruption and fear, like this incident. The consequences will be long-reaching.....bridges possibly patrolled, random searches of tourists etc.

Look what happened in the 70s and 80s with the IRA. Lots of Irish people were treated with suspicion.

Think that's already happening Dawg in UK and other major cities. It's a by-product of the profile of the suspects and a natural human reaction - rightly or wrongly.

A witness just claimed they were on the bus over Westminster bridge and they heard gunshots, then the vehicle swerved across and mowed people down.

Maybe that's incorrect and she's struggling to recount the history so quickly after the event, but if true, were the gunshots at the vehicle the cause for it to swerve?

The vehicle seemed to have carried on as it crashed into gates of Parliament.

A witness says he saw bodies on the bridge....and in the water. Not good.

I guess many of us were suspicious of any Irish people back in the day. I guess that's a 'normal' human reaction. 

One crazed guy makes many people panic and fills them with fear.

It would be odd to shoot at the car on the bridge (unless they were following him or had some intelligence).

I think we'll learn a lot more in the next hours.

We normally stay in Westminster when we visit London so we are always on Embankment and crossing the bridge to St James' Park.

Supposed to be in London next weekend so hope things are back to something like normal.

My wife was in Westminster for a meeting on Monday and walked over that bridge, makes me shudder to imagine how lucky she was. Very sad for the families of these innocent people.

Police Officer confirmed dead.

Ironically, I emailed clients in Brussels Airport this morning who have been holding a memorial on the anniversary of the bombing at the airport....I was the there before that bomb went off!

There's not much you can do if someone acts alone in this manner.

It's not about 'this' incident....it's about what other potential plans could be in place and if anybody else is involved...as well as any radicalisation that took place and by whom.

You only have to look at the arrest taken place in Germany and Belgium recently......numerous further arrests took place which probably prevented further attacks...and those individuals were originally classed as ' a lone wolf attack....'a mental case'.

Actually i would rather they shot him in the legs and incapacitated him then he would not have accomplished what these nutters all want, to become a martyr and ascend to paradise with the dozens of virgins awaiting. He could then have spent the rest of days in a maximum security prison instead. I'm sure if they thought that was how it was going to end they would be less willing to participate if they thought there was no martyrdom awaiting.
