Who had the best and worst window?
I think we had a pretty decent window. Liverpool too. United as well. Arsenal had a shocker. spurs and Chelsea - not great either.
But PSG and Monaco had blinders. Neymar and Mbappe in for PSG and unimaginable sales for Monaco (almost £300M).

UEFA to investigate the Mbappe loan deal.

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
yes, the sticking point was all about the "promise to buy" part, which effectively puts his price upfront in this window, which would have put them over the FFP they believed, which is why they wanted a 12 month loan deal on it before having to pay.

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
Don't think it makes any difference if it's a loan deal...the deal Monaco have is that they will pay X amount next season.

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
yes, nut by putting it in black and white that they have to pay, it effectively makes the purchase count in this years books.. that's what I understood to be the stumbling block they had to get over.
if they've intentionally worded something to get around that, then UEFA will be wanting a closer look at it.

Hence why they will investigate it...I'm not disagreeing with you Moon.

UEFA have not said anything out loud when other clubs have done loan to buy deals so why look into this?

At least all our buys have improved us significantly. Who do you think our Best Buy is going to be?

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
I'm liking Mendy and Danilo in particular. Bernardo may well be a slow burner because we already had decent players in midfield

A UEFA spokesman said: "PSG must respect Financial Fair Play rules as do all other clubs in Europe.
"They must demonstrate that they do not have losses of more than 30m euros over three years.
"The impact of a potential transfer of Neymar to PSG would have an effect on the club finances over several years.
And now they have committed to Mbappe on loan and have to pay Monaco nearly £170m next summer....
They surely can't sell nearly £350m worth of players in 12 months...and UEFA are already braced for a Qatari based sponsorship deal to try and circumnavigate FFP.
"It is very difficult to judge this type of operation in advance as we do not know the plans of the French club.
"They could well sell a few players for a similar or even superior amount.
"We shall therefore only make calculations at the end and make sure that they respect the rules."
Meanwhile, La Liga boss Javier Tebas believes PSG chiefs are breaking the FFP rules with income from their Qatari backers.
Tebas, who is a Real Madrid fan, told Sport: ""They cannot make a number in which their commercial rights are greater than those of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
"Nobody believes this."
UEFA have vowed to keep a close eye on PSG's income over the next 12 months.

Didn't UEFA say that after the Neymar deal?

I've said before that PSG need to find about £150M a season to make up the perceived shortfall

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
We don't know PSG's starting point. They can just ask for more money from emirates who pay €25 a year when Chelsea get £75M from Yokohama Tyres. Nike pay -€24M whereas manure get £75M from Adidas.

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
Just increasing those two sponsorship deals could give them an extra £100M and no one could really argue about it. A few new legit deals because of Neymar and they've got all the money they need.

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
It's not just Neymar....they're now committed to £170m in 12 months to Mbappe.
I'm sure they could just cover the Neymar deal this season....but another £170m next season without using Qatar as their piggy bank? Doubt it. Hence why UEFA will be keeping a close eye on them, considering they were in the same boat as us - got fined and warned already.

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
But Oz you are falling into the convenient trap that ignorant journos lay. My numbers are for both of them. There's so much more they can get from kit and shirt sponsorship deals. I reckon they can get an extra £100M from them. We don't even know if they currently make a profit for FFP terms according to UEFA

Ok, sorry Oz. Just accept that they can afford it with a bit of negotiation with existing and new sponsors

Some of the comments were the same comments after the Neymar deal, but the others weren't.
What are you saying now....I didn't say that UEFA would investigate it, when you said they'll be OK?

I say they'll probably be ok unless they want to account for Mbappe as a loan this year and UEFA won't let them

Stop it....NO, that's why UEFA will be monitoring them, as I said hours ago. They CAN'T just make up figures or add extra ridiculous sponsors....
You're starting to sound like John Cross of the Mirror over the Sanchez deal!!!

What if PSG gave a pre season tour where they are paid £5M a match for 6 matches? I think Liverpool were charging £1M+ for friendly games

Man Utd got a guaranteed £20M plus bonuses for the ICC this summer apparently, so there's tons of money available there

Re: Who had the best and worst window?
Apparently PSG were charging £4M per friendly this summer. They played 3 games. Make that 6 and charge £5M instead and that's an extra £18M-£20M a season so easily.

Ahh, so with £200m for Neymar and £190m for Mbappe....forget all their other players, they can get some kind of tour to make them £100m to get past UEFA and they'll say "ahh, OK, that's fine?"...after OPENING AN INVESTIGATION into them???
Seriously, I know you're pretty good with figures, but it's time to STOP trying to redeem yourself.
You called me naive to believe what journo's say....well I posted about it at lunchtime and then the BBC and SKY posted what UEFA said, not me, UEFA said.
Build a bridge Dawg....and get over it. Or, apply to PSG and let them know how they can get around UEFA's investigation according to you.....
It's a bit of banter, but boy, you hate to be wrong!

I don't mind being wrong but I'm not. You just keep banging on with your ignorant comments. Why are UEFA opening an investigation? Because G14 clubs are complaining? Because they don't like PSG?

I said a pre season tour could bag them £30M+ and new deals with Nike and emirates could net them an extra £100M a season and, arguably, quite legitimately
