City vs Southampton - LIVE!
I'd stick with the same team. Kompany has to play snd probably again at the weekend. He can have a break by not playing in the CL next week.
Must win game.
Ederson
Walker, Kompany, Otamenbdi, Delph
Fernandinho
KdB, Silva
Sterling, Aguero, Sane

Don' know about it being a must win game Dawg...but a win would be nice to open that gap up again.
I agree with your team bytheway.

Re: City vs Southampton - LIVE!
it's certainly a mustn't loose :p
think will be pretty much same team, don't be surprised if Zinchanko gets a run at LB or some surprise in there...
maybe Foden in for Dave? something Saints won't be expecting to mix the pack up and keep a tiny bit of rest in there...

Which should be the easier game, Saints or hammers at home?
I still think play the best players whenever you can. They’ll get their rest by not going to Ukraine

Re: City vs Southampton - LIVE!
oddly enough, Zinchenko can't go and play in Ukraine :p
he's been getting more involved around the training ground and I think Pep might be looking to keep some.
Even with a week off on champions league duty for a few, we still will have to travel with most of the squad,, and playing 3 games in the 9 days before flying out will tell on some legs...
I think after Huddersfield, a tiny change might help

For me if you want to avoid another stones type injury from muscle fatigue then you need to rotate as much as possible. I would give Walker a rest & put Danilo on the right. Kompany got taken off early so I would start with him, but maybe think about replacing him in the 2nd half depending on his condition. Maybe get Gundogan in there too & if he's looking off the pace replace him with Fernandinho in the 2nd half. Start Jesus with Kun on the bench. Then you just reverse these changes for West Ham.

The medical staff will assess the players to see if they're fit enough. Usual scenario for me. Get a good lead and rest some players after 60 minutes.

Have never know saints to come and park the bus so I think this could be a big win tonight, Hammers much more likely to park the bus, but we should be winning both comfortably.

I want a win and a clean sheet. Nothing would piss the rags off more than knowing that our defense is as mean as theirs, despite being crap and containing Mangala

I think we have Sane and Ferdi both 1 booking away from a ban.
They should both play tonight and if they don't get booked tonight rest them on Saturday. We will need them both for the match at the swamp.

Re: City vs Southampton - LIVE!
or they might just "accidentally" pick up bookings like KDB did against Feynoord...

60 minutes, if not in the book, go and sarcastically clap the ref to get one before being subbed off..

getting a booking for dissent is a little risky because people will question it. Like some jokingly questioned the KdB booking against Feyernood.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan: "It feels like it's getting harder and harder for us. Southampton are a team who defend but also know how to play. They will be tougher than we thought maybe a few days ago.
"It's very exciting here, you can imagine. It's a lot of fun to train and play with these guys. We want to keep up our winning streak. It's up to us, we want to have fun tonight. It's my first league start of the season, it's been a long wait."

Thought there'd be changes, but surprised Silva was rested. I'd have given Ferdy a rest..3 games in a week!

Good idea but if it's decided that they got themselves booked deliberately then it's a 2 match banTopdawg wrote:Moonchester wrote:60 minutes, if not in the book, go and sarcastically clap the ref to get one before being subbed off..

If they score, they could take their shirt off and get booked 'legitimately'

Just when the team selection was starting to get a little predictable he shakes it up. I like it

Brahim is on the bench, hopefully he will get some minutes in the 2nd half.

Re: City vs Southampton - LIVE!
Edderson, Sterling & Ferno have been faultless, but otherwise its poor passes & sloppy play everywhere else.
