The funny thing is we've had much less possession, but because Arse is going for it its opened up space for us

We have dropped off this half and can let them off as -5, overall a great week for us and 3 points closer to b that guard of honour at the Derby

Class display in the 1st half was enough. Would have made some subs earlier just to try and keep the intensity up.

Think Pep felt sorry for Wenger and didn't want to completely humiliate him. Maybe they'l keep hold of him only losing 3-0 but if we'd have battered them by 6 he'd be out on his arse. He's a genius that Pep bloke

Sane deservedly man of the match, but Edderson was immense

Sounds like Wegner has been in the dressing room a long time, still no interview.

Nope, still stubborn and wanting to blame his defenders.
Shit 2nd half for the fans....we just controlled it and it looked like they had one eye on Sunday.
Arsenal Fan TV will be mental....or will it? Think they know....unless Wenger goes, they're just in freefall.

Fair play to you for going mate, I'm sure the win made the journey home slightly more pleasurable.

Amazingly, just like Sunday, there were deluded gooners on the train afterwards who were saying that for large parts of the game they were the better team and deserved to get something out of the game! Knobheads

in their defence, if they were more clinical in the first half they could have had 1 or 2 goals..
second half they had the penalty and nothing else.
if we hadn't scored 3 quality goals, they might have had a draw or win.. ? )

It's all "ifs and buts" moon.
Imo City were the better team once again and fully deserved to win.

Re: Arsenal v City Live Thread
City were far the better team. They had one or two decent chances (one a pen), but the rest were shots from 25 yards that never really troubled Ederson.
We pretty much took our foot off the gas for 45 minutes...that much was obvious. If they would have scored their pen, I'm sure City would have upped the pace.
One thing....Arsenal fans will NEVER ever be able to use the word Emptyhad again.
55,420 attendance? Does Diane Abbott now work for Arsenal?

Read some of the bitterness in the comments on the BBC website after the game.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43150331
Just amazes me, have they think any team founded in the 1800s has no history. Jesus, you can't make it up.

Re: Arsenal v City Live Thread
I was thinking about our history.
Founded in 1880s
Played in the top tier in1899
Won FA Cup in 1904 and 1934 (highest hime attendance of 84,569)
Won the league in 1937
Relegated the year afterwards
Only team to score 100 league goals in a season AND let in 100 league goals in a season.
Let United borrow our ground after the war
Bert Trautmann cup final in 1956
League title in 68
FA Cup in 69
Cup winners cup and League cup in 1970
League cup in 1976
So we hadn't done too badly on the trophy front before the money came in. We still had big crowds when in the third tier.
Why did Arsenal leave Highbury and why do they charge the highest ticket prices in the land? For money.
Why did Liverpool build a new stand and earn an extra £12M last year because of it? Money.
All clubs are looking for ways to make more money and have always done so.
Before the investment, City were already one of the top 20 earning clubs in Europe. Back in 2004/5 we were 17th with Arsenal 10th. In 2000/1 Arsenal were not even in the top 10 earning clubs (but Chelsea were).
So any tosser that want too deride our history, needs to take a step back and stop running their mouths off.
And the 'where were you when you were shit' comment is a load of old bollocks. 30,000 in the third tier. That was almost 20 years ago. Some of that crowd will have passed on but, just from looking at the makeup of the away crowd in particular, you've got a lot of blokes in their 40s,50s and 60s and most were there back in the day.
A 20 yr old kid would have been a a little baby in those days so hardly likely to go to matches. So you can hardly criticise the younger fan either.
It's all just jealousy. Pure and simple. Their clubs chase money and 99% of their fans wouldn't turn down the money if someone rich came and invested in them.

Man City - FA Cup Winners in 1904
Man United 1908 FA Cup Winners.
................so we won the FA Cup BEFORE they did.
Football League Cup.
Man City first won it in 1969.
Man United in 1991.
.................so we won the League Cup 22 years before they did!
European Cup Winners Cup
Man City - 1969
Man United - 1991
...............so we won this again, 22 years before they did.
History?....they're fucking delusional. Man City were the first Manchester club to win a major honour.
