Stoke v City - Live Thread
So...lots of media interest locally, on who will or won't start tonight. Some saying Pep will make changes (MEN), others saying Sterling will start on the bench and that Delph won't be fit to start.
Not sure what is true or not....but for me, if everyone is fit and considering some of the performances against Basel....I'd go for the strongest team we can. We have a 2/3 week break after this, so no worries about resting players.
Ederson
Walker, Vinny, Ota, Delph
Fernandinho
Sterling, KDB, Merlin, Sane
Jesus

I really doubt we'll get that team bluey, but it's never easy to guess who Pep will pick.

If the rumours are true, 3/4 of them may not be playing!!

3 or 4 or ¾???
It'll probably be a tougher game than most will expect.

Re: Stoke v City - Live Thread
You'd suspect:
Walker in for Danilo
Silva in for Gundogan
KDB for TLMLF
So I'm guessing, if it's not 4, Bernardo starts ahead of Sterling.

And Ederson for Bravo....but none of them are surprising changes.

Can see Danilo if Delph is not fit. Zinky was fucking awful against Basel and needs a spell on the bench.Topdawg wrote:Who will play LB then? Danny or Zinky?

Ederson
Walker Kompany Otamendi Zinchenko
Fernandinho KDB Silva
Sterling Jesus Sane
I’m reliably informed is the starting 11

Hope Zinchenko's had a rollocking after that performance against Basel.

Re: Stoke v City - Live Thread
To be fair to Zinchenko bar Sane & the kids no one really had a good game. Would have picked Danillo myself, but Pep probably has a tactical reason for picking him or Dan has a slight knock.

Still on current form apart from Zinky its the strongest 11.

Tbh....id have started Bernado on the right. Sterling should have been given the last 30mins when they're tiring to ease himself back in.Strange Blue wrote:Still on current form apart from Zinky its the strongest 11.

Unless we get an early goal this wont be a walk in the park, I expect a frustrating 90mins with a last minute Sterling winner.

Butland kicks worse than Hart. I would have Pickford before both this season.

Disappointing half really. We’ve given them some encouragement with some slack passing. Jesus looks poor compared to Aguero. Zinky is being targeted and walker has been sloppy. Need an early 2nd goal

Re: Stoke v City - Live Thread
Well...started off great. Brilliant ball from Sterling and a great finish from Merlin. Since then...utter shite.
Jesus....wish he'd stay on his feet and grow a pair. Even my wife said "why is he always on his arse?"
Zinchenko...a replica of Basel...keeps giving the ball away.
Sane...needs to get in the game more.
Walker and Zinchenko need to be overlapping more, to make their 6 in MF spread out.
Hoping for a much better 2nd half performance.
If Jesus carries on the same way after 55 mins, I'd shove Bernardo on and put KDB or Sterling in a false 9.

1-0 at half time, I'll take that all day long. Think we will turn it on in the 2nd half and get a couple more, Stoke wont have the legs in the last 15mins. Sterling to score with assist from Jesus
