Re: Spuds vs City
Anything less than 3 points will be disappointing
Don’t think spurs are up to much this season, even though bizarrely it’s their best start to a season & a win would take them above us.

How we line-up at Wembley tonight
City XI | Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, Silva (C), Mahrez, Bernardo, Sterling, Aguero
Subs | Muric, Kompany, De Bruyne, Sané, Otamendi, Jesus, Foden
Kev still not starting

Re: Spuds vs City
The state of the pitch probably has a lot to with him not starting. I’m guessing most of the subs will start against Fulham though

Re: Spuds vs City
Wow, Spuds bench is strong, maybe they have written this one off, that and those bizarre comments from Poch about not being there to win games? Have spuddies rolled over already?

Re: Spuds vs City
They still have a strong lineup considering their injuries. Bar Kevin & Sane I think that's our best line up, if the pitch were normal I'd have us nailed on for a win, ut it really plays to Spurs advantage.

Re: Spuds vs City
Mendy defensively poor again, Mahrez man of the match so far me, both for his attempts on goal & getting back defensively

Possibly, I know I will be before the end of the 2nd half.

Re: Spuds vs City
I just want to say how immense I think Edderson is. He set up the goal with his long ball and his save when Harry was alone on goal was also classic Edderson.

Another Mendy error, I heard Delph is back so would hook him to make a point.

Walker trying too hard against old team. Happy to see this one out with no more drama

Re: Spuds vs City
Walker is just back so I don't blame him for being rusty, but Mendy's issues are built into his game, great on the attack especially with crosses, but poor with the defensive basics.

Re: Spuds vs City
Not mentioned Sterling, but hes been consistently excellent every single game. An assist this time & always a threat, starting to think City should just pay him what he wants or at least find a compromise.

Re: Spuds vs City
Another clean sheet, no idea how. Fullbacks were terrible, odd substitution of Aguero but 3pts in the bag and a game to forget.

Re: Spuds vs City
We deserved the 3 points, should have been 2-0. Still poor in the 2nd half & yeah a game to forget except its an important win maybe more than it was last season.

Looked rock hard, really odd bounce. Crap watching as all the NFL markings prominent, but same for both teams I guess.

Mendy reminded me of Mangala last night....he scared the living crap out of me.
Great result despite not playing anywhere near our capabilities.

Re: Spuds vs City
Agree with most of the above re the fullbacks, awful especially Mendy. If Pep is so good at training players to adapt to play in different positions i.e. Delph, why can't he train a defender (Mendy) to defend? just a thought.
I thought Fernandinho was fantastic tonight, some of his interceptions and tackles were brilliant especially the one where he sprinted back and made a superb sliding tackle to prevent a shot on goal after Mendy let a simple tottenham forward pass run under his foot!

Re: Spuds vs City
For any one who didn’t see it this is from Mendy’s twitter: “Not the best mendy tonight but congrats to the team for the 3 points on a difficult pitch” nice to see that he’s taken responsibility for his performance, hopefully it’s just a one off
